We liked the idea of 'Windows on the Tyne' but were quite disappointed that while seated in the restaurant there wasn't much to see out of the windows. Mostly just treetops and the taller buildings on the horizon. The starter was simple and really enjoyable but my main, the green thai curry, was not up to standard. It was very watery and was served with plain rice so there wasn't much flavour, although it had a slow burn to it. My partner's main was very good and she couldn't fault it. The food was nothing special but the bill was significantly higher than other local restaurants so I wouldn't return. Cabonara was entirely flavourless and was only less than half eaten. The other, in all honesty was pasta with a can of heinze tomato soup poured over. Chicken which topped meal was as dry and tough as an old shoe and on wrong plate. Garlic sour dough bread was not fresh. All in all a really poor meal. Bottle of malbec shared was nice.
