Not to sure what to rate this place so will go in the middle as only ever managed to get drinks on the three visits so far even though each time we have tried to get food (seems to be a very popular place and booking required apparently) although on the last visit tables were available we were actually put off by the back of house madness and bickering which overall was a mess that we could see of. After seeing the state of the bar around the side for glass collection which barely had any room for a shot glass never mind a pint glass then to look into the kitchen area where glasses where washed...well it looked more like a pub organised by ermm alcoholics to be fair as looked in utter chaos. Then a member of staff dropped a glass (which was obviously an accident as not something you would do on purpose) another very young member of staff threw a wobbly at the other girl whilst stomping about. Perhaps there was a reason for the breakage and over worked perhaps or needs help on the back of house duties?. Sorry to rant but after seeing the chaos we decided to not eat here as guess the same chaos was also repeated in the kitchen area.
I think more staff training required here to hold it together as clearly staff issues with bickering.....no need life's short. Not something customers should see nor staff should put up with as degrades the team and makes it not a nice place to work which in turn effects the actual whole point of the business.
Come on pull it together as it does actually look a nice place now it has been modernised but I do think more staff are required and/or better training in organisation where 'fires need putting out' as such in a live fast paced situation where staff are not coping and don't forget the most important thing of a great business is appreciating your...
Read more16/4/23 My partner and I had the unfortunate experience of dining here. Myself - Sunday roast. Helen - vegan Wellington. Verdict - absolutely appalling!! Reasons :- Food served on dirty plates. Meal replaced this time with clean plate for Helen. The Wellington, Helen assured me had been microwaved as the puff pastry was soggy. However H reports the mash was buttery. The beef Sunday roast. ! The two machine sliced pieces of beef were not pink as advertised and rather tough for my taste. The garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes in goose fat were tasteless and dry appeared to be ready made roasted potatoes reheated. The veg again appeared to me to again be out of a packet reheated. Both meals were served on approx 7 inch plates with half inch rim. The plates were cold to the touch for both meals and the food lukewarm at best. Not impressed with the establishment or the floor manager. For instance we were seated at a pre booked table for two but were in a chilly draught - not good for arthritic joints. We saw a vacant 2 person booth opposite and asked could we move to it before any food or drinks were served. To be told no as that table was pre booked for 30 minutes later ! Not a good start. Only when I questioned the floor manager why she had told the poor waitress we couldn't change tables and stating we will change tables or leave did she say there was no problem. Couldn't see a problem swopping one pre booked table for two for another vacant table for two before any drinks or food had been served to us at all myself and considered it to be a perfectly reasonable request.!! Never again will we be back. The standard of service was poor, the management of customer requests non existent and the poor quality of food was served lukewarm for both occasions. GO ELSEWHERE TO...
Read moreBeen coming here for quite a while and to be honest the food is hit and miss at times. I'm not one to complain or leave reviews for that matter, however this particular visit was extremely disappointing. We ordered 2 starters and one of the starters arrived not at all as specified on the menu due to running out of ingredients. So the chef decided to concoct their own take on it without even making us aware, and the 2nd starter was really over done. We didn't even take one mouthful and returned them both and just ordered our mains. I asked to speak with the manager as we had come here especially for our Anniversary and would of appreciated been told about the missing ingredients rather than making up a random dish. Anyway the manager came to speak with us and all I can say is WOW! Absolutely ZERO customer service skills, very rude and quite frankly, I have never been spoken to like that ever in my life. There was no apology and all she kept saying was "well I've refunded you for the starters".. but WE DIDN'T TOUCH the starters so yes a refund was definitely to be expected. I'd understand if we had eaten the starters and then she was offering a refund but 8th we didn't even have one bite! After repeating myself numerous of times, she offered us free deserts. She huffed and puffed and walked off. By this point I just wanted to leave, but then the mains arrived. So far all was going well, until my husband got a hair in his mouth! The manager didn't come back and speak with us but instead we spoke to a waitress who was so lovely and sympathetic and she wavered the mains as we had not even ate half. She offered us complimentary deserts but we declined her offer as I was just not in the mood and wanted to go home. So all in all a...
