Burg Burgers Mapperley Top — Local services in Gedling

After wanting a Burg for about a week (we would have had one last Friday but there was no option for a kids meal), my wife and I decided we would have one for our anniversary. The delivery turned up and while we were unpacking we realised that there were no brownies. I called Burg and they were very helpful, they advised we could either stick it on the delivery note for the next time, or request a refund from deliveroo. We went with the refund option.

We had 2 x burgers, I had the Burg Khalifa. 2 portions of rustic Fries (although 1 was rustic the other waffle fries), onion rings and chilli cheese bites. The chips were luke warm, and the same with the burgers. Always a problem when they’re wrapped in tin foil.

With regards to the Burg Khalifa, I took one bite and thought wow this was incredible. However after the 3rd or 4th bite, I realised that in my old age of 34, that it was too messy and didn’t have the greatest flavour. I’d previously had the vegetarian burger and thought this was delightful. I would not recommend the Burg Khalifa.

It was a massive letdown, which is such a shame; although this could be due to a lack of brownie which would have made my evening. I will be going once more to try their chicken burgers, if this is equally as disastrous I won’t be eating here again.

Sorry Burg but last night was only a 2 star.

Ordered for my mums birthday and collected it at the time requested. We got home, one burger had ketchup on when we asked for nothing on it so my son offered to eat that but it was also really cold! A drink was missing and other meals were barely warm which is unacceptable. We called immediately and were accused of lying which I was really upset about and that they cannot control the outside temperature even though we got straight in the car! We asked for repeat order and were told no - I asked her whether she would eat a cold meal and she didn’t reply. Management refused to speak to me and we were told that they couldn’t do anything. £67 was spent and no one enjoyed their food. The lady on the phone put the phone down twice and refused to help me. This was such a bad experience that I will not be coming back. The customer should be listened to - customer service was absolutely shocking. Worst I have ever experienced!!!! Glad this place opened on Mapperley Top! Burger patty is of good quality, and the burgers themselves delicious, as are the waffle fries. Note some reviews comparing to Ohannes - having tried both, the burger meat/patty at Burg Burgers is of much higher quality, so I guess you get what you pay for. I would compare it to Pattyboys rather than Ohannes in terms of burger type/quality, and these guys are cheaper with a more extensive menu 😉 Of course a reduction in price would always be welcome 😆 but I think the pricing is fair. Agree with other comments re: offering a burger/fries deal and hopefully this is something they will introduce soon.

They have had some teething problems since opening in the past few weeks - perhaps slightly too successful?? - and got my order wrong the first time, but the customer service I received was prompt and courteous and they resolved things to my satisfaction.
