The Roastery — Restaurant in Gloucester

Sleeping in the hotel next door, I was advised to come and eat here, and honestly as soon as I arrived I was positively impressed because, the place is really very nice and furnished in a different way. There was no welcome with any smile unfortunately but, the boy at the cash register was very quick in reaching me; unfortunately the speed is also exaggerated, surely they will have many customers to satisfy and therefore the reason is understandable, but after ordering a tea and a full English breakfast, the tea was served to me after a minute and a half (good thing), the English breakfast was served to me after three minutes!!! English: The speed unfortunately highlights some things to improve, the aesthetic aspect really excellent, the taste very good, but the consistency of some things showed that they were prepared in advance, for example: the Bacon was incredibly hard, the sausages had a really black line where they had been left for a long time, the Hash Browns broke just by looking at them, I didn't have time to put them in my mouth that they immediately fell back on the plate, the eggs were overcooked with the yolk completely hard, and the cherry tomatoes only reheated but still raw (English breakfast, not salad), being an English breakfast it is assumed that the tomato should be cooked and not raw as in salads. The dessert was very good but, the sponge too dry and the chocolate cream too thick to balance everything, with every bite I had to drink to be able to swallow but, overall the flavor was there even if you couldn't taste the orange. I have to say, however, that after all these details that highlight a professional need, I ate everything with a slight regret but honestly almost happy.

Dormendo nell’albergo a fianco, sono stato consigliato di venire a mangiare qui, ed onestamente non appena sono arrivato sono rimasto positivamente impressionato perché, il locale è davvero molto carino ed arredato in maniera diversa. Non c’è stata nessuna accoglienza con nessun sorriso purtroppo ma, il ragazzo la cassa è stato molto rapido nel raggiungermi; purtroppo la rapidità è anche esagerata, sicuramente avranno molti clienti da soddisfare e quindi il motivo è comprensibile, ma dopo aver ordinato un tè ed una colazione inglese intera, il tè mi è stato servito dopo un minuto e mezzo (cosa buona), la colazione inglese mi è stata servita dopo tre minuti !!! la rapidità purtroppo evidenzia alcune cose da migliorare, l’aspetto estetico veramente ottimo, il sapore molto buono, ma la consistenza di alcune cose ha evidenziato che esse erano preparate in anticipo, ad esempio: il Bacon era incredibilmente duro, le salsicce avevano una linea davvero nera nel punto dove hanno sostato molto tempo, gli Hash Brown si rompevano al solo guardarli, non ho fatto a tempo a portare in bocca che sono subito ricaduti sul piatto, le uova erano stracotto con il tuorlo completamente sodo, ed i pomodorini solamente riscaldati ma ancora crudi (colazione inglese, non insalata), essendo una colazione inglese si presume il pomodoro debba essere cotto e non crudo come nelle insalate. il dolce molto buono ma, la spugna troppo asciutta e la crema al cioccolato troppo densa per bilanciare il tutto, ad ogni boccone ho dovuto bere per poter inghiottire ma, nel complesso il sapore c’era pur non sentendosi l’arancia. Devo dire però che dopo tutto questi dettagli che evidenziano una necessità professionale, ho mangiato tutto con un lieve rammarico ma onestamente...

Amazing little coffee shop ! Owners Lee & Kate and staff alike are so friendly & there is always time for a chat and catch up. Feedback regarding service and products are always welcomed and in fact encauraged. I cannot recommend this little gem enough! Breakfast toasties and smashed avocado on toast is out of this world- not to mentioned the pancakes with bacon swimming in syrup! YUM! Not only do they support the local area and local businesses - They are happy to advertise these through little leaflets or business cards in their shop.They listen to their customers and the cafe is generally just a happy and uplifting place to chill. I'm proud to call The Roastery 'my'...

Have been here several times and the food was good, but the last 2 times I've been there hasn't been an option for me to eat. I am an awkward customer because I can't have gluten, wheat or dairy and I don't eat meat, but it would be nice to have a piece of cake with everyone else and a gluten wheat and dairy free cake are easy enough to make. Also my 7 year old niece wanted carrot sticks and hummus but we were told she couldn't have it because that was on the lunch menu and it was only 11.50am when we asked for it. Surely you could have provided her with that? Not sure I'll be back, which is a shame because we have always enjoyed coming...
