A Pearl of Gravesend: An Unforgettable Anniversary Finding a restaurant that combines exceptional food, impeccable service, and a truly personal touch is a rare find, but we were lucky enough to discover just that. For our 20th wedding anniversary, my wife and I decided to celebrate with a dinner out, dropping a small hint about the occasion when we made our reservation. We were absolutely blown away by what followed. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. They had prepared an intimate table for us, beautifully decorated with balloons and little touches that made us feel incredibly special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the perfect backdrop for a celebration. The food was nothing short of outstanding. Every dish was a masterpiece, perfectly prepared and bursting with authentic Italian flavour. As amazing as the food was, the service was even better. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about making our evening perfect. The evening was topped off with a special glass of Prosecco, followed by a lovely chat with the management and the restaurant owner. Their passion for what they do shines through in every detail, and it was a real treat to hear their story. We were so impressed that we even bought a bottle of their delicious house wine to take home and enjoy by the fire. We can't wait to come back. This place has definitely become our new favourite. See you soon!

We were really looking forward to trying Mad in Italy but ended up being very disappointed. As a party of 8 we knew we would be spending a few quid which was fine. However the visit really wasn’t worth the money. The food I had seen looked great but ours was bland and not as described. The pasta had hardly any filling and the sauce certainly wasn’t homemade. The service was truly awful! We were served by a waitress I can only describe as Vicky Pollard meets Lauren from Catherine Tate. It baffles me that if you don’t want a job don’t do it. This waitress didn’t want to be at work, couldn’t be bothered to serve us and didn’t care about our experience at all. Don’t think she will last long. Shameful wine menu considering there are amazing wines from Italy. The wines looked and tasted like they were the cheapest ones you can get from bookers. Shame really as it looks lovely in there but we won’t be back. We have a monthly outing as a group of friends so if we had liked it we would have been back. If it had just been the service that was bad I could put this down to the waitress having an off day like we all have but there were too many things wrong with this unauthentic Italy Restaurant. Sorry guys it’s a one star rating from me and my friends.

Hello again everyone! đŸ‘©â€đŸ”§ As I promised you, I am writing about my latest discovery of a fantastic place and cuisine.! If you are traveling in Kent and are near Gravesend, be sure to visit this place! Restaurant! A real Italian treasure and I will tell you why! First of all, the place is perfectly chosen right opposite one of the oldest clock towers! This one is also specially built and dedicated to the wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. The street is in a central but quiet place and you will find it easily. You will be greeted very warmly and with a smile by real gentlemen but wonderful people born and raised in Italy. Yes, Italians with the typical warm Mediterranean hospitality and the way they make you feel good. What can I say about the cuisine! EXCELLENT!! You should allow yourself an escape from everyday life and enjoy a good atmosphere, great food, music and company! Thank you Enzo Lillo Salvatore Rocco and the entire staff. It is already one of my favorite places!! See you soon😊Don't forget to order a coffee at the end and drink a FRANZELICO!! You WILL remember it😊I promise you đŸ‘đŸ»

Such a shame, especially since my mum has always raved about this place as a local favourite. Unfortunately, the standards have really dropped.

Service was virtually non-existent. We waited over 10 minutes just to place a drink order, and when the waitress finally came over, she seemed completely disinterested. I had to ask for tap water twice before it was eventually brought over.

Food was mixed — the zucchini fritters were genuinely great, and the pizza was okay, though quite soggy. But the main let the meal down completely. I ordered grilled chicken with roasted vegetables, but what arrived was swimming in oil and completely inedible. I left hungry. My side dish never came, despite asking for it three times. It was finally brought over by the manager, who told us it had been dropped and remade — but no one thought to communicate that to us in the meantime.

It was frustrating to be checked on multiple times by staff, only to have our concerns ignored. My mum asked for another glass of wine, which never came until we had to ask the manager again. His excuse? That the chef was a sub and the waitresses were tired. As someone who’s worked in hospitality for years, I found that particularly disappointing — tired staff and substitutions don’t excuse poor service. If anything, it’s the manager’s responsibility to support their team and ensure the customer experience doesn’t suffer.

This was meant to be a birthday dinner, and sadly it was a complete letdown. I’d strongly recommend choosing another Italian restaurant — we certainly...

I've been going to this restaurant since they opened. To leave this review it took me a lot of visits at this restaurant - Mad in Italy2. A lot of people changed but service always been satisfying as their lovely meals too. They have sea foodđŸŠȘđŸ€, vegetarian options of course traditional Italian food, steakđŸ„©, pizzas🍕, cheese board🧀, kids menu and their all desserts are home made. All food is very tasty and I think they make best pizzas in Gravesend area đŸ˜đŸ€žđŸ». You can buy some snacks from Italy too which you won't find in England and I've done that couple of times never been disappointed. Always been greated with welcoming and kindness. They really care and want to improve their place. Owner himself puts a lot of work and effort. Whole team is amazing! They have live entertainments just have to follow them on their website, Instagram platform - madinitaly2 or you can just give a call to restaurant and they will give answer to all your questions. Never been dissapointed always after the meal I leave the restaurant pleased and with smile, and I know that I'll be back very soon again. I have a lot of love to everybody and respect for whole team! It's always great when a restaurant team makes you feel special and appreciated. It sounds like you've found a place where the staff genuinely cares about their customers. That kind of consistent, excellent service is what turns a good meal into a great...
