Creams Cafe Gravesend — Restaurant in Gravesham

Ordered food and drink. Menus are so tatty even the tape used to hold them together is falling apart. Had to ask twice for glasses as we don't often drink from bottles in a sit down establishment. Took 40 minutes to bring me the can of drink ordered with my waffle. Which also took 40 minutes... I've been here many times before. Customer service if often patchy when there's no management keeping an eye on them... Usually there's no problem with the food, when it arrives. On this occasion, there must have been a maple syrup shortage... I would have complained but really didn't feel there was anyone there in charge to complain to...

Returned here on 14/04/19. And the service has not improved. Have previously used my Blue Light card here. My colleague and I ordered our tables food, showed our cards to the server at the register. Later found no discount had been applied. Went back and asked if there had been a problem, and was greeted with the stroppy reply "the manager ain't got time for no student discounts no more". No real explanation. All three of the servers had no idea what a Blue Light card was and acted like we were trying to scam them. One of the servers looked like at the card like it might leap out of my hand and bite her... We retreated to our table to avoid further awkwardness to wait for our food. And oh boy did I wait... I watched everyone's order arrive... Like they only had one functioning waffle maker. After most people at our table had finished theirs. I asked about mine, and the coffee I'd ordered. She returned to the table and asked what I'd ordered. Another 10 minutes later my food and coffee arrived. And my table had the pleasure of watching me eat while the servers asked if we were finished yet. There was no apology from the server for forgetting my order. Again, no one seemed to be in charge and customer service was poor. It felt like teenagers were running the place... My group go here infrequently, 9/10 times there's a problem. Abysmal. Do not go here under any circumstance. Ordered a Large milkshake at 9pm. 40 minutes later it was ready. I was told to collect my order and I was completely ignored by two male teenage staff. I approached them after ten minutes of waiting which was now 50 minutes in total but both teenagers ignored me. One walked straight past me and down the stairs then walked past me after he was back upstairs and ignored again. Then they were too busy with the young female courier who was asking for and obtaining free bounty bars and chomping away on it. I asked again where my order was as it was ready for collection and had been a hour. I was told I would be next and he will make my shake straight after the one he was making. The young bounty chomping courier then ushered over another female who started giving orders of what she wanted and then a third female came over and did the same. All hugging. I doubt all three couriers lived in the same household. Then a male courier came in and they started making his order and he pointed out that I had three orders put in front of me and that they are now doing his and he is the fourth and the staff said don’t worry about it yours are important as you don’t want to wait. Well guess what I didn’t want to wait either and asked them to cancel my order as it was disgusting what had just happened and the teenager said ok. Then I asked why he was not cancelling it and he said ring the local helpline they will cancel it. There is no local helpline! What an utter disgrace. It was worse than letting two 5 year...

I wish I had realised how dirty this place was before I paid for the food.

The menu was covered in sticky goop, ( I found this out after I ordered, my menu was only slightly sticky).

The table itself was also dirty, I didn't notice at first as I was just so grateful to sit down after hours of being on my feet.

It was the toilets that bothered me the most, just disgusting. I could clearly see fingerprints and various dirt smudges all over the door and walls, it made me wonder if the toilets are even cleaned weekly let alone 3 hourly like a lot of places do.

The toilets themselves were stained a dirty dark brown colour, it was then I wished that I hadn't entered that place, unfortunately I had already ordered and paid and was also there for someone else's benefit or else I would have left there and then.

The food was nice but a little sickly as I was wondering about the kitchen hygiene.

I personally won't go there again, it needs serious improvement.

The staff were a bit inattentive and some were more interested in chatting to each other than dealing with issues presented to them.

My comment to a staff member about the extremely filthy menu they gave us was met with a blank stare and no words at all, like talking to a brick wall.

If you just need sugar and don't care about anything else then go for it, otherwise, seriously just go elsewhere it's...
