Black sheep is easily the best coffee shop in sta. The staff, the quality of food, the quality of service, the seating, the interior design, the music, the vibes, the interactive displays - literally everything is perfect. However the main thing that has made me a frequent customer is the gentleness of the lighting. I struggle with sensory issues and the yellow toned lights which point straight down onto the walking space instead of burning the eyes of seated customers allow for the seated areas to be that perfect mix of dimness and brightness, there are very very few places in St Andrews that arenāt extremely overstimulating and overwhelming, every single building I walk into has these bright glaring fluorescent lights that give me and my neurodivergent friends unbearable sensory overload, stopping us from concentrating/studying/relaxing. There are very few places in sta that are inclusive towards those with sensory struggles, the styling of the lighting in black sheep is 10000000/10. Finding black sheep has been a godsend, they are literally saving my studies. So yeah go to black sheep if you want good vibes, visual aesthetic, chill music, comfortable seating, dim yellow lights that donāt burn into your soul, and super friendly staff who make you blush and do a cute lil awkward smile. (The tatted barista is my fave, heās stylish and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOf the many cafes one could choose as they travel through St. Andrews, Black Sheep Coffee stands tall above the rest. Why, you ask? Is it their unique selection of coffee beans, specifically chosen from around the world to give the customer an unparalleled coffee experience? Is it the hip modern artwork that bless the walls with images of Scottish Pride, Nintendo, or Harry Styles? These things may add to your black sheep experience, but there is one thing, and one thing only, that has me in there time and time again. This is a beautiful specimen of the human race known by the name of Raf. Every time I enter this wonderous nook off Market Street, I am greeted by the most free loving spirit I have ever encountered in this lifetime. His eyes gleam with joy, his voice filled with elation and delight as he takes my order. When he hands me my coffee, I know that I am not just being handed a cup of coffee - I am being seen, heard, appreciated and embraced on the deepest human level. No one I have encountered has provided me with such feelings of safety, warmth and comfortability. If you are looking for a coffee experience that will fulfill your soul as well as your caffeine craving, one must look no further. Unless Raf is not working that day. In which case, I'd...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got a free coffee here bc my parents simply weren't here to pay for me, but omg that was a good coffee. Double shots of CBD and Lions Mane, full Robusta beans, lord im feeling nice when writing this. I even had a talk with a staff member regarding my caffeine (and xanthine and other stimmy in general) preferences; coffee isn't my go-to, but I prefer hardcore pre-workouts and ECA stack pills. But if I do have a coffee, it has to be good and hit hard. This does both, with the nice little after-effects of focus with the nootropic ingredient (that being Lion's Mane powder) and relaxation for simple CBD (CannaBinoiD, legal in the UK) oils. I'm listening to music rn and omg my music appreciation is ELITE with this coffee... My nice IEMs only make it better uwu 5/5 for this chain, if we had more in Leeds I'd replace Costa with...
