The pizzas are really good, crisp base, delicious toppings, authentic Italian feel. Cocktails lovely. Some things to improve - the service is VERY disorganised. Staff are really nice, but nobody meets you at the door in a front of house role and customers are just left to wander about looking for a table, then nobody comes to serve you unless you attract their attention. The bar often has one person behind it despite being busy. Thereās a general sense that nobody knows what theyāre doing. The managers were berating the staff in front of customers, which is unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. They should train them properly and be supportive, rather than being slightly aggressive towards young and inexperienced staff (who in our opinion were doing their best and receiving no direction). There are Deliveroo drivers standing around which isnāt a good look. The live music is great, but the general playlist is like something youād hear in a hotel lift and maybe due to this there is no atmosphere at all in the back ārestaurantā area. Not sure that the jazz influence is really hitting the spot. The whole place just needs to be more edgy and better organised. There are many good pizza places and bars competing in the Southside, so these things need sorted if Bossa is to last. Hopefully they do as itās got good potential food wise. The managers need to get their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWaited at the bar to be shown to our table and then left at a (sticky) table with no menus or cutlery - no staff in sight. Waited an age and had to place our food order at the same time as our drinks - another LONG wait. 4 pizzas ordered and eventually eating over an hour after we arrived, after 3 apologies from staff for the delay. The upsetting part came when we came to pay as we were through the back and there was no staff to ask for the bill. We headed to the bar and I waited to pay while the rest of our party headed to the car. I was waiting patiently whilst unbeknown to me the waiter chased out after my husband accusing him of not paying. My husband came back in to show me standing waiting at the bar. The owner of the restaurant then came up to justify the poor service - short staffed, overbooked which is not my problem as a paying customer. NO APOLOGY. I said we booked late on and if they didnāt have capacity they should have stopped bookings (apparently thatās condescending!) The owner was rude, Iāve been never been so embarrassed or spoken to like that in front of other customers. I paid the bill as the poor woman behind the bar looked mortified. Genuinely the worst experience Iāve ever had which is a shame as the pizza was good. Please donāt waste your money. If I could give it zero stars I would. Lots of other amazing places to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe phoned ahead last Friday and let them know we were coming around 745/8pm with four adults and one toddler. As far as we were told on the phone the licence was until 9pm so we had time for a pizza and drinks each. The girl who welcomed us at the door blatantly just turned us away, saying that there's no space (there were lots of seats) and then something about licence stopping at 8pm on certain nights. Can someone clarify the licence times? I feel this happened because we had a toddler. She didn't even offer us a takeaway which we couldn't believe. We had to walk to Dini's who was closing up by then, but they still helped us all out. 5 stars for Dinis. Gutted about Bossa as we would have easily spent 100+ quid including drinks, the pizzas looked good. Now we're all really put off...
