It was a great experience. The food was brilliant, not too much not too little. Medium lobster was ready well done, garlic butter and chips with salad were 👌. Mussels were also 👌 in their creamy sauce. Fake fish salad was fantastic according to our cohort. We also had oysters (fried and as they are) and the halloumi fries which were great. We're connoisseurs of fine seafood so this was a good experience. Made me home sick thinking about oysters in the Philippines. Good selection of wine to go with the food. Sanserrere white wine was a good combo with our food, nice and crisp. Very gentle. I'd say that even with lots of people (almost a full house) it felt relaxed (keep up the 80-90s soundtrack!) My suggestions for better experience is to consider the seating arrangements on the walls, it's not easy to get in and out and require shifting of tables. Also your pricing for oysters should either be dropped to 3 for £6 or increase the oysters by an extra one for the price you would sell it at. I feel that was a bit too steep for 3, regardless of whether it was fried of au natural / ready to eat. Keep up the good work.

As other restaurants are fully booked, we decided to give this one a try despite of the fact that it is relatively new and has only a few reviews. When we got there, I noticed most of the tables are empty which shows a sign of poor-quality foods (as compared to others, the more crowded the better the foods). We ordered almost everything they had as you can see in the pictures. Unsurprisingly, the mussels has a weird bad smell taste. I immediately informed the waitress and said she could please check with the kitchen since it smells not fresh, or to be honest smelly dead. Probably they had kept them for a few days. She came back from the chef saying the mussels was stocked in the morning which is obviously a lie because they are not fresh AT ALL. By the end of the day, everyone in our family suffered from stomachache and bad diarrhea, my kids even threw up half way when we got home. The service is unacceptably below standard for such a seafood restaurant and PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE.

An unassuming little seafood restaurant tucked away in St Ives that I thought was an amazing find. I was a little concerned that it was empty when we visited but it was med-afternoon. I chose the moules and my wife had the mixed seafood, both of which came with chips. The mussels were probably the best I have had, certainly the best in the UK, and were fresh and cooked to perfection. The portion size was ample although some more bread would have been great to soak up the beautiful, creamy sauce. I also tried the some of the mixed seafood and it oozed freshness and was cooked in a light crispy batter. The waitress was excellent and attentive but not overly so and is a credit to the business. I have no hesitation in giving 5-stars and we are looking forward to our next visit. I would imagine that this restaurant is very busy in the evenings especially in season. Thank you.

The server with the accent said he was doing us a favour by letting us eat in.

5 of us arrived at 6.30pm on a tuesday to eat in as the reviews seemed pretty good. When we got there the place only had two tables taken with others all empty. we asked for a table and he said we would only have an hour as his tables were booked. he then said he didn’t want us to wait too long when it got busy so it would be better for us to come back at 7 and he would be able to give us a table.

we came back and sat down and he came to take our order and we said we needed a few more minutes to decide. as soon as we said this he said we needed to be quick because he needed the table back in 45 mins. however he did not say this earlier and we felt a little attacked by the way he was talking. we said how we were confused because we needed longer and he never said we’d only have 45 mins if we came at 7, rather he’d made it out to be the opposite. when we expressed this he said he was doing us a favour. not sure how us PAYING over £70 for a meal would have been him doing us a favour. Honestly felt slightly racially motivated as if he simply didn’t want us in the restaurant anymore as he started walking away whilst we were still talking to him.

His service was appalling and i’m not sure if this was because we were visibly people of colour of if he was just having a bad day. although a number of reviews have mentioned bad service. whilst we ended up getting takeaway the food was definitely not worth the money or the poor treatment.

If you are a person of colour i would ideally avoid this place and the horrible man with the accent who made us feel so gross despite US being the ones who would have paid him. A couple of other reviews by PoC also suggest similar treatment.

Whilst the reply suggests that we were given free sauce that was in fact not the case at all as when we came home to open our boxes there was no sauce at all. only salt and vinegar packets. the chips were also according to what we ordered, nothing...

We came today as a family with a dietary restriction (gluten Free) As soon as we came we were served by Ovidiu, we asked to be seated together but he split us up stating we are busy when clearly there was no one there. He was extremely rude and impolite. When we explained our dietary restrictions he was quick to say we mix gluten free oil with normal. I then said I phoned prior and that was not the case. He then went to the back and asked the chef and then changed his answer saying that they do not mix the oil. We sat down and there was an offer for £14.99 for cod and chips with tartar sauce and mushy peas. I informed him family and I would like that, he immediately replied this offer is not available at the moment despite it clearly showing it’s available. I found that strange even though it didn’t state any times or days that it’s not available. As our family was split up, he approached us first he explained to us what exactly u get in the meal deal as now the new price was £18.99 which was the exact same thing as the offer for £14.99. I ordered 3 meals for our table of 4. Then he went over to my family on the other table and they were trying to ask him about what exactly u get in the meal and he was very rude and cut her off before she could finish her question saying to ask me as he had already explained everything. The other table also ordered 3 fish and chips and there were 5 people sitting there he then said that’s it only 3 fish and chips for you 5. My wife then said why is that a problem and he was huffing and puffing saying we are very busy etc but agin we were the only people there at the time. Our food finally came the fish was over cooked and the chips portion was tiny. I think if you want to run this business in a busy area you need to know how to serve people with respect as we paid a...

Despite being a well reviewed place and advertised on Google. We decided to try out the fish and chips, however, the server was EXTREMELY rude, disrespectful, and lazy.

From the second we tried to enter he was telling us to “get out of the way”. He separated our group with the excuse of “we’re super busy” so our large group was forced to sit apart despite us being the only group in the restaurant with the exception of a couple in the corner…

He then took advantage of our lack of knowledge of the area and said that the normal deal which had no time limit/ restrictions on it on the menu, was not available but then told us to order the same items separately, which costs almost double…

I was not particularly hungry and decided to go for something small that was on the kids menu and he denied me service saying that “its on the kids menu” and that hes “not allowed to sell it to an adult”.

Since our party was split in two we had to order at two separate times and when the second group tried to ask any questions because they werent at the table when the first group asked, he responded with “ dont ask me I already explained to the other table, ask them” in a very rude and crude manner.

He also didnt provide us with the correct meals, we all ordered cod and chips and he gave haddock to 3 of us and tried to play it off as cod, it was covered in batter and extremely small, my sister had to take 3 bites before reaching the actual fish.

He also brushed off our request for an extra fish as one member of our group changed their mind and felt hungry, his excuse again being “were extremely busy”. He left the shop multiple times with a drink, cigarette, and phone in hand..

Overall it was an extremely TERRIBLE service and DO NOT...
