Worst experience ever had. Waiting in queue line to get a table for 1 hour, conditions in the menu that you should order at least 1 item from main menu (Really ridiculous), no member of staff to attend you for 20 mins after getting a table, and finally no one is bothered if you are frustrated and walk out.
Response to the Owner's reply: The first thing any good Company/Restaurant does when they get negative review is apologize customer and then see where it went wrong. Here, despite that not happening, you are blaming me and even giving me suggestions:). Great work Rajpoot. Wonderful ethics. This shows how good your service is.
Anyways, Thank you for your reply. But i would like to clarify some points here: 'you didn't mention about the fact that you wanted to share two main dishes between 5 people' - That is the way generally people share things if they are in a group and there is nothing wrong about it. But after knowing about your condition, we agreed to order 1 main item/person and waited for 20 mins to give order. 'It is clearly mentioned on the menu that minimum one main per person (adult) is required' - Yes, that is what I mentioned as "ridiculous" in my review above. 'So after explaining our policy multiple times, we decided to continue serving other customers' - We asked for a clarification on the condition in the menu as that was the first time we were coming cross such thing. This was explained only once and your comment 'explaining our policy multiple times' is absolutely untrue. 'as you have yourself mentioned that there was a queue outside waiting for a table' - Yes, that doesn't mean you ignore the customers waiting to be served. 'I am afraid running a business in St ives isn't cheap either' - I agree. I am more concerned about the way you treated us rather than your conditions in the menu. Running your business is not cheap doesn't mean you won't treat customers kindly. 'no one is bothered if you are frustrated and walk out.' - Do you have any comment on this line I mentioned above in my review? My Final say before signing-off : If possible, try to improve your service (Remember, I am not the first person complaining about your staff/service) rather than defending yourself. Good Luck...
Read moreWe arrived at the restaurant having visited on several occasions over the past few years. There were 3 young girls waiting on and it soon became apparent that all was not well. The restaurant was not busy but the girls did not seem to be able to cope with even the basics. One of the girls eventually came over to take our order looking rather flustered. She went on to tell us that the manager had walked out earlier that evening. Whilst waiting for our food to arrive we observed other customers having to ask several times for their bill. There seemed to be a lot of âeye rollingâ whenever the girls were asked to do anything. One of the girls in particular just didnât seem to be interested or bothered and another put her coat on and disappeared outside only to return shortly after and prop up the bar with a can of pop. We had ordered poppadoms and pickles but these did not arrive. After a wait the starters eventually came out. After we had finished these we reminded one of the girls that we were still waiting for our poppadoms. Eventually they appeared but with no pickles. The delivery driver who was at the bar could see that we were frustrated with the service and eventually brought over some âtakeawayâ pots of pickles. No one came to clear the table after the starters and poppadoms and when the girls started to bring out our mains we had to ask them to stop and clear the table first. The delivery driver passed us on his way out and wished us âgood luckâ. Whilst we were eating our mains, a man appeared from the kitchen and another man arrived at the restaurant and they went behind the bar. At no point did anyone come over to see if things were ok or apologise for what was basically the worst service we have ever received. The final straw came when one of the men brought over the bill and a 10% service charge had been applied. We immediately advised him that we would not be paying the service charge and would also be making a further reduction to reflect the terrible service. The only positive was the fact that the food was really nice. Things will need to vastly improve before we will...
Read moreI don't usually give low reviews. HOWEVER, this restaurant has failed to meet expectations of a normal Indian restaurant in many ways. The food may look appealing, but is of low standard and taste in comparison to other Indian restaurants around the UK. We did mention the poor taste to the manager and he came up with poor excuses as to why the food taste was bland. We were re embursed with a free Naan. But I believe a review must be truthful. There are only a handful of Indian restaurants in the entirety of Cornwall and so the restaurant has little to no competition with other Indian establishments and claims it is one of the 'best' in the local area. But thats because it is one of the only Indian restaurants in the entire area!đ đ đ¤đ
This isolation is a huge cause for its weakness and many locals may have never tasted authentic Indian food, which may make them overvalue this business. In comparison to other Indian restaurants in the UK it is of poor standard. The pricing is reasonably expensive and not really worth the money. If you are looking for an authentic Indian dining experience, avoid this restaurant and look elsewhere, because as you would expect Cornwall isn't the place for great curry!
If you ever want a good review of a place look at the names of the people reviewing. As you can see mostly Indian names on this (experts in Indian cuisine as we eat it everyday) have given negative reviews. So you know they are truthful. Additionally the owners replies to the reviews have mostly been in denial.đ¤đ¤đ...
