Terrible first impression!!!

Called in for the first time, on my way to my new job, to get a breakfast sandwich, after noting that they take card payments. Ordered my sandwich, waited while they made it, and went to pay by card to THEN be told that the minimum spend was five pounds. I hadn't seen a sign anywhere advising of that.

The sandwich was three pounds eighty, or something, and there was nothing else I wanted. They tried to talk me into spending over a fiver, but I didn't want sweets, pop, cake or an instant coffee. They didn't offer to charge me five pounds and give me the change out of the till. They didn't advise me where the nearest cash machine was. They just stood staring at me, like it was my job to find the solution. I had no cash, and since they were so unhelpful I had to leave the sandwich and walk out of their shop empty handed, and a bit humiliated to be honest.

So they won't be getting any of my money, ever, and a breakfast sandwich every morning would have added up for them.

"Sorry", they said, as I walked out. Was it sorry they lost my business forever, or sorry they seemed completely incapable of offering any kind of solution that might've encouraged me to ever go back in there? Doesn't matter which. I won't...
