Don't waste your time or money!
I'm usually a fan of Cha Cha Chai, as we regularly visit the branches based in Leeds, Bradford and Newcastle. So upon hearing it was opening locally in Middlesbrough, we was both really happy and excited to try our local branch instead of travelling out for it. Both me and my husband ordered for the first time today from the Middlesbrough branch, it was a collection order of a full English breakfast, a Desi breakfast and a Kinder Bueno milk-cake.
It was the most disgusting breakfast we've ever had. Both orders was completely cold, dry, hard and tasteless. I requested mine to be a bit spicy, which they clearly completely ignored. They even forgot to give me my salad/Achar. And there was no turkey rashers in the English breakfast and the beans portions was literally a tablespoon worth. For the price we paid, you expect them to be considerate with the portion and making sure everything is included when packing the order for collections/deliveries.
Also the milk cake was the worst I've ever had. It was completely disintegrated into the milk. All mushy, it looks like the milk cake was just sat there for a week rather than a fresh batch. We spent £25 in total. And it all went in the bin.
I called the shop to complain and he just took my name and number down and asked me to reiterate the complaint the next time I come down, when it should be dealt with there and then. If you want to maintain a decent reputation and want your customers to return, you should always listen and rectify any issues that the customers face with there and then. Not tell them that 'It will be dealt with next time'. That's not a solution, that's just fobbing/ripping your customers off.
Definitely not happy at all, and will be speaking to management about this. We...

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but our experience at this restaurant was incredibly disheartening and honestly, quite shocking.
We walked into the restaurant genuinely interested in dining there. As a basic hygiene practice, we simply wanted to wash our hands before sitting down to eat. It’s something most people would consider standard, especially before a meal. However, as we headed toward the hand washing area, we were abruptly stopped by a staff member at the counter.
With a dismissive tone, they told us, “This is only for customers.”
Excuse me? Why would we even enter a restaurant if we weren’t intending to be customers? This kind of assumption and treatment felt extremely rude and uncalled for. We hadn’t even had a chance to look at the menu or be seated, and already we were made to feel like we didn’t belong. It was humiliating and embarrassing, as if we were being judged or accused of misusing the facilities without any reason.
Basic courtesy was completely lacking. A simple, respectful interaction would have gone a long way, but instead we were met with hostility and judgment. We were so put off by the experience that we immediately turned around and left. There’s no way we’d want to support a place that treats potential guests with such little regard.
A restaurant is not just about the food – it’s about the service, the atmosphere, and how it makes people feel. Unfortunately, this place failed miserably on all counts before we even got to sit down. Truly a disappointing experience, and one I hope the management seriously reflects upon.
I would not recommend this place to anyone who values respectful and welcoming service. First impressions matter – and they’ve clearly...
Read moreVery disappointed with the food. It was very quiet to start with so no excuse. Ordered standard Shish Kebab on Naan. You could tell straight away they were just warmed from frozen with a cardboardy naan and presented with a miserly salad. No flavour. The vegetables samosas were lukewarm on the outside and still frozen on the inside! I never complain but since it was so quiet the waitress ( who was lovely) picked up on my displeasure and offered to go to the kitchen and request another portion. When the replacement samosas arrived they were so oily my cholesterol levels would have shot through the roof. I’m only giving it two stars because the masala tea was good. There is so much competition on Linthorpe Road with these chai places. Only the best will survive. Please be more attentive to quality we do want businesses to flourish. But at this rate it doesn’t...
