Last weekend afternoon, we preordered two pizzas by phone for pickup. The weather was fantastic, and the Seafront and carpark were packed, but guess what? The restaurant was empty! 😳

We got a margarita for £13 and a spicy salami for £15. I paid by card, and the card machine automatically offered a 5/10/15% service tip. I just gave 5% because it was just a pick-up. We asked the staff if we could eat our boxed pizzas at the outdoor table since the restaurant was empty, but they hesitated and she said we had to ask. 🧐 So, I just said, “Forget it, we’ll eat on the beach instead.”

Paying the full restaurant price, including tip, and having an empty restaurant was not what I had expected.

We hopped on the beach and started our pizzas. The pizza looked okay from the outside, but it wasn’t sliced at all! 🤔 We tore them apart and took a bite. All our hopes vanished as the tomato sauce was tasteless, and the worst part was that the dough and crust were soft, maybe even a bit undercooked. I’m not sure if the pizza dough was too hydrated or if they pulled it out of the oven a bit too early, but I expected a lot more for a £13 Margarita pizza. Unfortunately, the nduja chilli salami pizza was similar. The tomato sauce was tasteless, but the rich nduja and chilli made up for it, crust was soft, not crispy.

Overall, our pizza experience was not great. The hospitality was poor, even with an empty restaurant with three staff. The pizzas were overpriced, especially for pick-up, and they weren’t even an authentic Italian...

Went here for a work night out. There were 10 of us. Tyisha was our main server very bubbly, great customer service. The decor was great and good background music had a few of us bopping about in our seats. We had starters. My friend had a croquet and I had garlic bread with mozzarella. Big portions, we did a bit of sharing. Then the pizzas were massive, very tasty. My friend had Calabrese, I had a Rollercoaster (butternut squash, spicy sausage, hazelnuts, olives) my other friend had tuna and onion we all did swapsies and all pizza was good. If you have room for desert that was good too. A wonderful biscoff cheesecake and a lemon cheesecake flavoured ice-cream. The Pina colada's very nice too! Tyisha was the perfect hostess and we had a laugh with her. Everything about the experience was positive. Definitely recommend! There were...

The pizzas were great, really great. But the rest was definitely not worth the money, the starters and sides were quite small for the price and were no better quality than what you'd get elsewhere for less. Definitely got the vibe they are still finding their feet. One unusual thing that threw me off, that my partner flat out didn't like, was that one of the owners was hovering around the resturaunt in a very cheap rainbow patterned suit, leaving potent wafts of aftershave behind him as he walked past and being a little too talkative with customers (came across more irritating than welcoming). The nail in the coffin for us was that on top of the overpriced food, they added a 12.5% service charge to the bill! Being nearly £100 down on the same food we could have got elsewhere for less, we didn't leave...

First time to find a restaurant that makes their own dough fermenting for many days. The dough is spectacular. I don’t find the price to be expensive because they deliver quality which in other restaurants they serve you frozen dough god know when it was made and it is not healthy and for the same price. If you want to eat quality, eat here and don’t compare to fats food restaurants! The atmosphere is amazing with beautiful Italian music and the staff is very lovely as well ! I would love if they would make some workshops on how to make their dough! We loved it ! In October they said they are going to add more vegan options as they did last year 😻

We came to Fermento on a Sunday lunchtime. For starters, the atmosphere and staff are lovely: it's a light and airy but intimate setting. The chef made the rounds of the tables, stopped for a chat and even shared the stories behind some of the menu items. The food is mind blowingly good - the most authentic pizza I've had outside of Italy. The dough is beautifully silky and soft, and the toppings are full of flavour. Dessert was wonderful. Yes, there's cheesecake and cannolo if you fancy a safer option, but I highly recommend the Mummy's Breakfast (sweet chocolate bread dipped in a vegan coffee cream).
