Fir Tree Inn — Restaurant in Great Britain

Came to the pub for a drink at 1045pm. When ordering the drinks, my friend had misheard my order before paying and asked the manager if he could swap one. To which she rudely replied and said no. Whilst we appreciate that we had mis ordered, there was no reason that this would be a problem in any other pub. The drink was unopened and had not been paid for. When leaving, I gave some feedback to the manager which again was responded to rudely. Comments such as ‘I’m not going to treat you like a customer that has been here all night.’ ‘Well you don’t need to come back’. Not even a sorry. I have never been treated like this by someone in a pub ever. For someone who has never gone to this pub, it has absolutely assured me that I will never be back. Clear from reviews that we were not the only ones that have had this experience. Perhaps some training on how to engage with customers politely would be...

Now, it's not every day that I find myself in a Bedfordshire village, along with a couple of chums and anxious for lunch. If this ever happens to you, and you don't want to go too far from the M1, the Fir Tree Inn could be the answer to your prayers. The words, "Classic Pub Food" on a menu are usually a warning, but not here. If you want bangers and mash revisualised, with the mash perfect and the bangers, sourced from a local farmer's pigs, better than you've ever had in a pub, this is THE place. Sorry to rant, but perfection when you don't expect it deserves...
