I booked TGI for a Saturday lunch as I had been drawn in by the lobster at £27.50. On arrival I was impressed by the cleanliness. I had a bottle of Estrella and my companions both had Diet Cokes. The drinks were reasonably priced however choice was limited. The waitress came to take the order and declared that they had no lobster! If we hadn't ordered drinks we would have left at this juncture however we decided to stay. I ordered the large Fish Basket for £18.50 and it wasn't worth it. It was basically a basket of deep fat fried calamari with a few whitebait, four small prawns an two baby squid thrown on top. My partner ordered 3 Fillet Medallions at £26.00 which were delicious. My vegan daughter didn't fancy anything on the menu, however the waitress was very accommodating and she ended up with avocado and sun dried tomatoes on toast which she enjoyed. We all ordered seasonal vegetables at £3.30 each and were assured that they were steamed with no butter and no oil. They came dripping! I also had a glass of the Sangiovese Puglia at £6.50 which sadly was the highlight of my lunch. All in all it was okay, a little pricey for what it is but then again it makes no bones about it being The Greedy Italian. The tables are little snug and one of the three guys on the table next to us didn't eat his meal. In fairness to the restaurant he told the waitress that he had been to TGI on a lots of previous occasions and that his meal was the worst he'd had. I think it's trying hard to be at the upper end of the mainstream market but it just isn't quite right. For example, it's much cheaper to buy three glasses of wine than the bottle. Would I go back? Probably not and definitely not without checking that they had the food they advertised on the menu. Fairly nice lunch venue and very clean toilets so...

Wow. Just wow. Incredible Italian restaurant with amazing food, beautiful decor, and such kind staff!

My husband and I went there for our Wedding Anniversary, and were met with fresh Pink Roses at our table as their gift to us 🥺❤️ I was so touched!

The interior of the restaurant is just gorgeous. It has a flower trellis ceiling, modern decorations, and soft plush chairs that are extremely comfortable.

We started with wines that were excellent. I got a sweet wine (Zinfandel Rosé) and my husband got a red wine that was incredibly flavorful and smooth (can’t remember the name at the moment!). We ordered the Bruschetta as an appetizer, and it was served to us with the bread still hot as if they had just taken it out of the oven - delicious!

My husband ordered the T-Bone steak while I got the Rigatoni Bolognese, and both were generous in portion and outstanding in taste. The rigatoni was perfectly al denté, with an excellent tomato sauce.

To finish the meal we had some wonderful Limoncello, and a scoop of their Mango & Passionfruit Sorbet which was exquisite!

The staff was very attentive, kind, and thoughtful during our meal, and even wrapped up the flowers on our table for me to take home as a Congratulations for our Anniversary!

Overall, we were absolutely blown away by the kindness and service shown to us at this restaurant. We will be...

Terrible Experience – Avoid This Place!

I had a really disappointing and concerning experience at this restaurant. The prawns were clearly going bad they had a strong, unpleasant smell and tasted off. Seafood, especially fish and shellfish, can be extremely dangerous when not fresh, and I honestly left worried about potential food poisoning. What made it even worse was the manager’s attitude. She was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to apologize for serving unsafe food. Instead, she gave us a bill with only a 10% discount and even included the spoiled dish! That was her idea of making up for it. On top of that, she added a service charge, so I ended up paying for poor service and inedible food. A tiny glass of wine was nearly £12 ridiculously overpriced. When we got up and left, visibly upset, the manager just stood there and said nothing. No apology, no courtesy nothing. This was a terrible experience from start to finish. I truly hope this is investigated, because serving unsafe seafood is a serious health risk. I absolutely do not recommend this...

Probably the worse Italian around I have not been to Ask for years but I think even that would be better than this place. To start we ordered abottle of white wine, it was tasty but not chilled and unfortunately that basically sum the place up. The may once be a great place to dine but standard and the attention to their food is definitely gone. Just compare the looks of our dishes and what they used to serve.....I don't think I needed to say anymore but it feels like they used the cheapest ingredients and throw them all together and hope the customers do not notice. For example almost all dishes involving sea food smell and tasted of rotten fish a clear indication of they are not as fresh as it should be and the tomatoes sauce the most basic thing in Italian, tasted blend as if all they did was putting tinned tomato into the blender.. It was really terrible , may be the head chef was sick but what we had today is not up to the standard of microwaves meal.
