I have only rated Aubergine one star as I don't think I can write a review with zero stars.
0/10 for customer service.
I arrived at aubergine on Wednesday 10th November at 14:48 (They close at 15:00) they were already packing up. I asked if I could order some food and they responded by saying they were closed. I pointed out in (in a friendly and cheeky way) that there was still 12 minutes to go, at which they seemed really annoyed that I had pointed it out. They then told me they had no food left, so I pointed out that they were packing away all the food from the front counter!! they then told me there was no bread, I pointed to the half loaf of granary on the back shelf.
There was not one single smile from any of the staff and not one sincere apology, they made me feel like I was troubling them and made me feel awkward for asking.
If your shop closes at 15:00 and I turn up at 15:01, then fair cop. If you want to close at 14:48 then at least be polite and sincere to your customer or change your closing times.
All I wanted wanted was a beef salad sandwich on granary, which is normally excellent and takes no longer than 90 seconds to make, but aubergine have no idea about customer service. Can you imaging a family run Italian deli acting the same?
Won't be going there again.
p.s. The coffee is...

The pasta is overpriced it's less than half the price in Sainsbury's the coffee my friend found so bad in there he had to leave it and walk out . I wouldn't go back in there if I was paid to
In response to the rude obnoxious reply from probably the same person this was not a prank review and the rudeness of this establishment towards ex soldiers is disgusting
Also my photograph is on my profile and you know exactly who I mean, so why lie and down below in another review you admit to being rude, yet us ex soldiers have been offered no apology ,your an absolute disgrace (maybe you don't like disabled people) and it's a shame as John is such a...
Read moreWe used to live in Woburn sands and this was always our least favourite cafe to visit due to the customer service. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I can confirm the service is the same. I said hello to the female owner to be ignored and kept waiting until her husband came to serve me. I then put my laptop bag down to immediately be asked to squeeze into the corner of the bench to leave the rest of it free (for who? Paying customers?), followed up with ‘we don’t have customers Wi-Fi’ and I couldn’t really catch the muttering reason why. I’m not sure I’ve been made to feel more uncomfortable in someone cafe before. I stayed for 15 minutes and then left, of course without a thank you or goodbye from the female owner. It’s nice to support small businesses, being one myself, but in this instance I...
