The Station Tavern — Restaurant in Milton Keynes

Staff and service were very good. A clean, welcoming pub. Never been in before but passed many times.Ordered the all day breakfast, listed on the menu at £8.95 with a Fosters and a diet coke, regular size. It all came to £30.95, which as I sat down seemed too much. I questioned it as it was a considerable amount more than in my head it should’ve been. The menu had been priced wrongly,and from the fact I was given £6 cash refund,it was clear this should’ve been £11.95 for each breakfast. The refund was immediately given , no questions asked. However, when our food came we were not sure what to think. Either it was the most over priced , smallest all day breakfast ever or we had been penalised without consultation for pointing out what was the establishments error. We were served- 1 sausage, 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon, 1 slice, halved of toast and a couple of tablespoons of beans.-for £8.95. Certainly not the breakfasts we saw on other peoples plates! If they had spoken to us and explained they couldn’t take that loss and could we compromise on the amount/size of our meal then ,of course it would be a yes. Really enjoyed the meal, great service. Wasn't very busy at the time of our visit. My friend had a problem with a biscuit which s a fishing for. The staff were very helpful and concerned, but he was fine. I really enjoyed the ambiance and the photos of all the trains and the models of trains above the bar which was close to our table. We had a great view of the crossing and I hoped to see a train go by. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be. The meal was delicious and served quickly. Just returned from having a large breakfast here for £7.50. So glad didn't order the mega breakfast for £10! The food was horrid, sausages not clocked, toast stale, cheap teabags.. Etc This used to be a great place to eat as was very excited about returning as haven't been here a few years, first thing we noticed is the prices have doubled..
