We have been loyal Jalori customers for the past 24 years. However, when did Jalori stop caring about their customers? 22nd Feb 2025. We ordered food at 704 pm for delivery at 815pm. When no food arrived at 840 we called and were told it was on the way, We are 10 minutes away from Jalori. Still no food at 9pm, 910pm.. called again. Finally food arrived at 920pm, over an hour late on a preorder. What is disappointing is the staff lied and said food was on way when it wasn’t and no apology. Starters were cold. We didnt feel like eating when it eventually arrived. Further to that, at approx 1130pm the restaurant called and said we had not paid… when we had and had proof on account that we had. They continued to argue without over it and we had to send screen shots as proof. We asked for a refund due to the terrible service and disrespect. They said we had to pay before they could refund, when we clearly had paid. Well, we will see if they do refund. So after 24 years we are going to say goodbye to Jalori. Terrible...
Read moreLast night I visited The Jalori for the first time. My wife had already been a few times and really thought I'd like it.
I didn't 'like it'. Instead, I loved it so much that as someone of 57 years-old, who must have eaten in at least 500 Indian restaurants, I'm about to say something ridiculous. Ready? Okay. The rajasthani laal maas I had was the best curry I've ever eaten.
It was accompanied by a naan so light and fluffy that I thought I'd have to weight it down to prevent it floating away.
I also tried a bit of my wife's biriyani and saag panir which were both well balanced and full of flavour.
My final point is considering our booking was peak time on a Saturday (and we chose to forego starters) our food came quickly and the service was attentive throughout.
I simply cannot wait to go again and can only say congratulations to everyone involved in...
Read moreI am surprised that this food is served for human consumption, quite simply the worst food of any type I've ever had.
I had the lamb karahi, the sauce was really sweet and thick, I don't know how you get it to taste that bad. The meat was soft but in a horribly over boiled way.
A friend had a dish that was so bright pink it looked radioactive.
Another friend had the chicken karahi and also said the sauce was way too sweet.
The daal was bland and under-salted. The bhindi was OK I suppose.
The naan was not cooked, it was thick and had clumps of uncooked dough all over.
Not to criticise other reviews but I suspect a few rounds of beers prior to eating may have influenced opinions. Or perhaps we just caught a bad shift, we went Saturday so the food may have been left over from the week. I'm trying to make sense of it but it was pretty bad, no redeeming...
