I want to rate Gin & Juice higher, but fundamentally I've not had a visit without some issue. The tills seem to regularly go down and the fact they have such a small bar and one till means service is often painfully slow. In addition, having so many gins, while a novelty, adds to the poor service as the staff seem to churn fairly regularly (nature of the industry) meaning it takes them an age to find the specific items to go with said gin and make it. I would argue a reduced selection would benefit the service and the sad fact is gins aren't exactly the high quality drink most think they are and distinguishing between them isn't that easy so I don't think much would be lost. The venue itself is a victim of it's site, in that it can be very crowded. Prices - I'm torn on this. Prices are high, too high in reality so does limit the clientele, which can be a good thing to some but it's also bad as it does make the place very 'small town' in a lot of ways attracting some pretty obnoxious people. Fundamentally gin is massively overpriced anyway.
Edit - reduced review from 3 to 2 stars. Visited a quiet weekday evening - the staff still don't know what they're doing, taking a good 15 minutes (at least) to make two gin and tonics. At £38 for two I expect better.

Read moreTerrible experience here tonight and once again poor service is blamed on covid. I asked for a coke and enjoyed a sip from the bottle as the bartender turned around to get the payment machine at which point I told her I do not have a card but I have cash tonight. She told me I can't take cash, this is so frustrating a pound sterling is legal tender in this country isn't it? When she learnt I only had cash she took the drink away, I explained I am needing 3 people here very shortly and I'm sure they will have cards and will be Skenfrith some money in the establishment over the next few hours. She persisted so I asked to speak to the manager and he too explained they are not allowed to take cash, I asked from a customer relations point t of view instead of putting the come down the sink that I can enjoy it while I'm waiting for my friends. He declined and siren the sink the come was led. I have met Mr friends and we will be going somewhere where they accept the...
Read moreWent there at the start of August (still during the COVID pandemic)
We went at around 18:00 on a Saturday and had to wait around 15mins to be seated which wasn’t bad. However after being seated, we had to wait around another 15mins before a server came to us and we were able to request a menu.
The menu has a very wide range of gins so for a first time here it was difficult to decide what to get!! Between receiving a menu and then having our order taken, we waited around 40 minutes (understandably they were quite busy but at this point we’d been here a while) we then had to wait around approximately a further 20 minutes until our drinks arrived. We were there for around 2 hours and only had one round of drinks.
Gin&Juice is definitely not a cheap place either! On average, our drinks were around £8 for a single shot. However, the gins were very nice and I would recommend visiting if...
