I want to rate Gin & Juice higher, but fundamentally I've not had a visit without some issue. The tills seem to regularly go down and the fact they have such a small bar and one till means service is often painfully slow. In addition, having so many gins, while a novelty, adds to the poor service as the staff seem to churn fairly regularly (nature of the industry) meaning it takes them an age to find the specific items to go with said gin and make it. I would argue a reduced selection would benefit the service and the sad fact is gins aren't exactly the high quality drink most think they are and distinguishing between them isn't that easy so I don't think much would be lost. The venue itself is a victim of it's site, in that it can be very crowded. Prices - I'm torn on this. Prices are high, too high in reality so does limit the clientele, which can be a good thing to some but it's also bad as it does make the place very 'small town' in a lot of ways attracting some pretty obnoxious people. Fundamentally gin is massively overpriced anyway.

Edit - reduced review from 3 to 2 stars. Visited a quiet weekday evening - the staff still don't know what they're doing, taking a good 15 minutes (at least) to make two gin and tonics. At £38 for two I expect better.

If you wear BooHoo or jeans and sheux - this is the...

Terrible experience here tonight and once again poor service is blamed on covid. I asked for a coke and enjoyed a sip from the bottle as the bartender turned around to get the payment machine at which point I told her I do not have a card but I have cash tonight. She told me I can't take cash, this is so frustrating a pound sterling is legal tender in this country isn't it? When she learnt I only had cash she took the drink away, I explained I am needing 3 people here very shortly and I'm sure they will have cards and will be Skenfrith some money in the establishment over the next few hours. She persisted so I asked to speak to the manager and he too explained they are not allowed to take cash, I asked from a customer relations point t of view instead of putting the come down the sink that I can enjoy it while I'm waiting for my friends. He declined and siren the sink the come was led. I have met Mr friends and we will be going somewhere where they accept the...

Went there at the start of August (still during the COVID pandemic)

We went at around 18:00 on a Saturday and had to wait around 15mins to be seated which wasn’t bad. However after being seated, we had to wait around another 15mins before a server came to us and we were able to request a menu.

The menu has a very wide range of gins so for a first time here it was difficult to decide what to get!! Between receiving a menu and then having our order taken, we waited around 40 minutes (understandably they were quite busy but at this point we’d been here a while) we then had to wait around approximately a further 20 minutes until our drinks arrived. We were there for around 2 hours and only had one round of drinks.

Gin&Juice is definitely not a cheap place either! On average, our drinks were around £8 for a single shot. However, the gins were very nice and I would recommend visiting if...

Can’t get a wider selection of gin than this place. Hundreds of gins to choose from and tonics to go along with it. The presentation is great and the taste unreal. The decor of the venue is reminiscent of new Orlean jazz clubs. Jazz music serenades you along with classic welsh tunes. The imagery on the walls looks great filled with art and culture. It’s small but has enough room to fit medium sized groups. I had the elephant selection and loved it. Very strong gin flavour with little hints of apple and fauna. My partner had the marmalade which was super sweet. We also tried the rhubarb and a made up rosemary mixture. Great spot.

Gin & Juice – Cardiff’s Gin Lover’s Dream with Cozy Vibes I recently visited Gin & Juice, nestled in the atmospheric Castle Arcade of Cardiff—this bar truly knows how to pour passion into each cocktail. Gin & Juice boasts a jaw-dropping collection of over 140 gins including everything from classic botanicals to local Welsh distillations. With a vintage speakeasy aesthetic and New Orleans jazz‑club influences, Gin & Juice delivers an intimate and stylish setting. The snug at the back is a charming bonus for when you just want to unwind Super cool and worth a visit
