Worst roast I've ever had. Went for a work Christmas do in the week. Got there at 7:05 and our starters didn't come until 7:30. Worse still our mains took until 8:35 to come and by that point I was starving so could eat anything. Almost anything but the awful Christmas roast with "all the trimmings" as advertised. The turkey was rock hard, some of it even crispy. I have never had turkey so dry it was crispy. And it took a good 20 cuts of my knife to cut through some of it. Moving onto the potatoes, or should I say 2 potatoes. 2 small potatoes. In what reality is 2 potatoes enough for a roast? They were clearly cooked from frozen like the rest of the veg and were hard and undercooked. Parsnips were burnt. The 3 brussel sprouts were hard and undercooked again. The Chardonnay carrots all 3 of them were tiny and tasted funny. The gravy which made the tiny side dish plate turn into a swimming pool was very salty. The singular pig in one blanket was cremated and the singular stuffing ball was very crunchy and no bigger than a raspberry. All of that must've been cheap with an accompanying starter (duck parfait which was the only nice bit of food although I only got two pieces of bread you'd expect to find with egg and soldiers)? Right? No. It was £23. For a tiny portion of horrible roast which was worse then school roast dinners by far. I can get a 3 course Christmas roast at Toby Carvery for £16 and a 2 course for only £12! Would not recommend to anyone looking at going for a work do or food in general. Shocked at how bad it was. Drastic improvement necessary.

Revolution Cardiff Bottomless Brunch – Mixed Vibes 🍳🍹 This weekend, we hit up Revolution Cardiff for their popular bottomless brunch. With a buzzing vibe and endless mocktails, we were excited to dive in – but it was a bit of a mixed bag. Here’s the lowdown: What We Ate: 🥑 Avocado & Poached Eggs – Two poached eggs on smashed avocado toast, drizzled with sriracha and chilli flakes. Sounds dreamy, right? Unfortunately, the eggs weren’t runny (a real letdown because who doesn’t love that egg pop shot?!) 🍗 Fried Chicken & Bacon Waffles – Stacked waffles with crispy fried chicken, bacon, and maple syrup. It tasted decent but felt a little light on portion size. 🍔 Classic Fried Chicken Burger – A brioche bun packed with fried chicken, lettuce, pickles, and Rev’s relish. This one did hit the spot, especially paired with the crispy fries. 🍟 Garlic Chilli Fries – Fries tossed in garlic butter, Cajun spice, chilli flakes, lime juice, salt, and pepper. These had great flavour and a little spicy kick! Mocktails: The Highlight! 🍓🍸 The mocktails were lush – we could’ve sipped them all day: 🌸 Strawberry Woo Woo – Sweet, fruity, and refreshing. A 10/10. ⭐ Pstar Martini* – Smooth, tropical, and indulgent. Loved it. Final Thoughts: The drinks were fab, but the food left us wanting a bit more – bigger portions and runnier eggs, please! Still, it’s a fun spot for a laid-back brunch with mates. Nothing that can’t be improved! Would we go again? For the mocktails, definitely! 🍹

Unfortunately, our group had a highly disappointing experience. Firstly, the service was extremely slow. Over the course of the two-hour period, we received only 6 drinks, despite this being "bottomless". This significantly detracted from the overall experience. The quality of the food was also far below expectations. The chicken burgers were incredibly dry, the mushrooms on the cooked breakfast were burned and inedible, and the baked beans had been sitting under a heat lamp for so long they had developed a thick film. The avocado toast was similarly disappointing—the eggs were overcooked yet somehow still slimy, the toast was soggy, and the entire meal was served cold. The only redeeming factor was our server, who was polite, attentive, and did her best despite the clear understaffing. She noticed our dissatisfaction and kindly brought us a couple of extra drinks as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated. However, it was evident that she was overworked and struggling to keep up with the demands of the service. Overall, this was not the standard we expected.

First ever visit to Cardiff, went in Vodka Revs and can honestly say I will never be back.

I ordered three double vodka redbulls and one double gin and tonic, barman who served me a told me I had to go up the other end of the bar to pay £35. So naturally I went up to the other end and paid, upon walking back to where he was making the drinks (it was quite busy so the bar was two or three deep) a group of lads turned away from the bar after being served, I looked upon the bar and saw one gin and tonic, I said to the barman “where are the vodka red bulls?” He replied “I gave you them, I’ve served you” to which I had to explain that he had not given me my drinks he had put them down to a random group of people whilst I was paying at the other end of the bar.

Their attitude was terrible, repeatedly telling me that they’d served me my drinks, at this point his female colleague came over and stated that he’d served me and it wasn’t their problem.

Revs was obviously very loud, and as a hard of hearing person it was difficult to communicate with her without having to raise my voice to be heard. She then proceeded to press a panic button on her side and security was called, a completed over reaction on their half.

I was then asked by security to go outside, so I calmly walked out and explained the situation to them. To be fair they took my side and agreed that the bar staff had completely over reacted.

After making my group wait outside the manager was then called and I explained further what had happened. He seemed less than bothered. Rightfully so, it was a busy rugby night and this should have been handled correctly by his staff. After further waiting he stated that he would refund me but we weren’t allowed back inside because I had “shown signs of hostility and frustration”.

The waiting and the accusations of causing an issue had put a dampener on our rugby win so we didn’t want to go back in anyway. I’m just furious that I was made to feel like I’d caused an issue when they themselves had failed at doing their basic job of serving me my drinks?

I wouldn’t go back again, besides spoons is cheaper and at least you get given...
