We have visited this restaurant a few times now and each time the experience has been different. Today we visited and had scrambled eggs on toast (one gf on panini which the staff were more than willing to accommodate) however, there was a mix up with staff about stock - for example one server came to us and told us there was no orange juice so we would have to have cordial (and tried to tell us this was the same price despite there being a clear 70p difference - although small still notable) upon finishing our meal we ordered a gluten free cheese scone to take away which the staff wrapped for us and assured us was a cheese scone. When we returned home we found that we had been given a sultana scone which was rock hard and borderline inedible. We are so disappointed by this poor service as this is the second time we have came to hidden on the harbour in search of a gluten free cheese scone only to be unable to have one - especially as we would never have chosen a sultana scone as we do not like them. Especially after paying £2.60 for something I hadn’t even asked for (this is £1 less than the gluten free price we were quoted the first time we requested a gluten free cheese scone - which is certainly not made clear on the menu although I would have been willing to pay that to receive what I wanted - it seems the rules here change upon every visit)

Overall, it’s a lovely restaurant but it has no real process which suits the customers and staff leaving customers widely disappointed - definitely in need of improvement !

So very...

The staff were friendly enough, but after ordering food and drink, which was only soup and a sandwich. Everyone else around us had drinks and more complex meals which arrived very quickly. We were still waiting 40 mins later. When it eventually arrived the food orders were wrong. The tuna sandwich came on brown bread instead of white bread as asked for, and the soup which was supposed to be Tomato and Basil, this came as vegetable. We ended up swopping meals at the table, as I will eat vegetable soup and my partner will each tuna on brown bread. Only the drinks were correct. What a carry on for such a simple order.. 🙄

Also I left them a review on their Facebook page and the following day I noticed they had changed my review to "Would Recommend" instead of my original "Would not Recommend". Bit silly if you read the review. So I deleted it and resubmitted it using my original post, only to find their is always an error when I try to do this. Make of that what...

3 of us and a toddler came in for a roast, we were one of the only customers in, so they were not busy. but the service was shocking. It was so slow and staff were just stood and sat at the top of the bar chatting amongst themselves. They had no idea about diary allergies (no menu) and were quite rude, saying things like "well, what do you want?" . The waitress then kept going back to the chef to check each dish one at a time (?) if they could do it dairy free. Very inexperienced staff, didn't seem to care at all (e.g didn't think to ask chef what dishes were dairy free to speed things up!?). Noone came to ask if food was okay or if we wanted more drinks etc. They didn't bring us the bill or clear our table, we got so fed up of waiting we got up and got ready to leave and then we had to ask for the bill. Unfortunately noone really liked their food either. Lukewarm and just bland. None of us cleared our plates. Decor is really nice in...

We pre booked afternoon tea for 6 and I can definitely say, there was plenty of food available, the staff were very friendly and attentive, the only thing I would change is the amount of sponge cakes, we had cake wedges of victoria, chocolate, carrot and one with pink icing, maybe change some for meringues, traybakes like rocky Road, millionaires shortbread or strawberry shortcake or even some lemon, coffee or coconut cupcakes. The sandwiches were lovely as was the quiche but I found the corn beef pie was a bit tasteless. All in all I would say good value for the money £19.99 each paid in advance

Fantastic. Gorgeous decor, really smart inside and decevingly huge inside. Situated on the seafront. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and professional. We had a duck pizza and it was nice. Another fantastic addition to Seaham Harbour !

Popped in for breakfast as we looked for dog friendly places to eat before we visited Seaham. Food was great, drinks were good, service was good and reasonable prices.
