Sadly a very disappointing experience despite really wanting to say otherwise as we found the concept and environment most appealing.

Ordered a latte, tea, sausage roll and potato and turmeric roll having spent some time trying to check the allergens with a very inexperienced young lady at the till.

We were not asked if we wanted the food heated but were told simply to take our seats & the receipt would come with our order.

After watching several other tables, seated after us, receive & consume their orders we eventually got a latte and tea, without spoons or sugars.

Approximately half an hour after our arrival we asked the lady clearing the tables if she could find out what had happened to our food order of 2 sausage rolls (I saw she was stressed so didn't waste time going into detail) I just assumed they would find the order being heated and bring it. Shortly after the young lady appeared with 2 sausage rolls, very flustered when I reminded her what I had ordered she then asked if I wanted the potato & turmeric roll heated !!

Hungry & fed up we reluctantly accepted both sausage rolls, cut into them & agreed they were luke warm, hard and seemed inadequately cooked through. We did not wish to embarrass the staff at the counter as there was by this time quite a queue so we again asked for assistance from the nice lady clearing the tables. She came back & informed us that as there is no table service I would have to go to the till for my refund. Fair enough but by then an apology or even an explanation would have been appreciated and would have prevented me leaving this review.

Yes it was busy by the time we left but please...

We regularly visit Marlow, since this is our neighbouring town and we live in Beaconsfield, Marlow has seen change and transformation over the last couple of years, and it was a positive sign to see the opening of this cafe & deli… we visited the cafe today and it was great to see the awakening and people returning to Saturday activities, following the recent pandemic hibernation… The staff working in the cafe, seemed to be new and not trained, and more frustrating, all cups, plates, K&F, spoons and plates were disposable… which seems a little confusing and contradictory, since you are paying a premium for being seated within the cafe and all utensils add to landfill…

I would hope to see positive changes over the coming weeks and hope the issues highlighted are short term and not a business model they will follow.

The delivery of a quality produce and taking into account environmental impact is a consideration which consumers value and take into consideration when deciding...

We sometimes go to Marlow and decided to go into Laurent's for a lunchtime snack. The food at the counter all looked very nice and fresh, including the salad bar was reasonable priced for the quality. We ordered 2 teas 1 panini and a vegan roll. Eventually, the teas turned up but no food. We waited awhile but nothing came, so my Wife went to the counter to enquire what had happened. They had not prepared the order and eventually it did arrive. The food was excellent and handmade. On the way out the owner came up to us and apologised for the bad service and refunded all our money which we had not asked for or requested. He was really concerned and upset we had received poor service. This showed us that he really cared about his customers and we really appreciated his thoughtful gesture. The other customers seemed to receive their orders okay. Will definitely go back again next time we are in Marlow...

The cafe is a hidden gem at the back of this lovely deli. There’s a good range of different rolls and lunches to take away too. The food is very good quality and fresh. We had frittata and aubergine parmigiana with salads. The staff were very friendly and helpful despite being very busy at lunchtime and took the time to check ingredients for allergy concerns. The cafe felt relaxed and unhurried and the decor was light, airy and relaxing. Well worth the wait for our lunch.

Plenty of veggie and vegan options. Had the vegan spinach roll and it was delicious. The multiseed croissant was very nice too. There are plenty of tables are the back with plugs if you need to charge your phone. I talked to Paul about placing a big order in the future, and he was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! PS: Some of the pastries were gone or low in stock when I went there for lunch on a Saturday, but still lots of choice of hot and cold food.

The customer service was great, couldn't fault it. There was a nice selection of tarts / cakes. I was recommended the Chocolate Dome and Blueberry Tart, both of which were nice, but i wouldn't say exceptional. For £5.99 each (Even more if you decided to eat in) I was left expecting a little more for that price. The price of other goods in the store were also steep and a lot of it can be had for far cheaper elsewhere. (Sometimes just a couple of doors down!)
