Dropped in for lunch for the first time. Firstly to note, you pay upfront for the food and pay separately for your drinks which you get it at the bar. The cost per adult is £13.99 (weekday lunchtime cost), not £12.99 as advertised. Secondly, there is no unlimited refill of your soft drinks as some mentioned in their review. So if you're on a budget and with thirsty diners, don't get dissapointed First impression, the place has fairly decent deco, ambience, with comfortable seating. An Indian waiter saw us to our table, he was ever so polite, friendly and nothing was too much to explain. He ensured we had everything and tried to accommodate any special requests. To start with, they said there's sushi but when, there was none but then a plate was brought out with only 8 pieces with just 2 types of sushi, seemed like a token gesture to increase the range along with dome cold salad, with Chinese food?. Nevertheless, we took 3 pieces only so there's some for others and it tasted ok. They had mini spingrolls, chicken nuggets, prawn crackers, crab claw balls, onions rings, chips, as starters but they also had a few odd mixture of English breakfast stuff like hash brown, bacon, sausages, mushroom, cheesy omlette, pizza, garlic bread, sweet potatoe chips. For a second, I thought I was in the wrong restraunt. Mains, was limited but you can see it was mostly cooked fresh but, I'll question the Chinese chicken curry, which I think it's not a favourite as it remains untouched and it did tasted a bit bland. The egg fried rice, you'll be luckily if you could find a tiny bits of egg in it but they did have plain chow mein noodles, which was OK. The highlight for us was, the spare ribs, sweets and sour chicken and best of all was the beef in blackbean sauce, you could actually see and taste the black beans, which is quite authentic. Desserts, the ice cream machine was broken but they had 4 selections of Ice creams in tubs, for sweet tooth lovers, lots of pick & mix, jellybeans with marshmallows, some choc cake and fruit mix. Overall, the food was simple and limited in its range, perhaps its mid week and lunchtime but it doesn't equate to the cost. We're a family with experience of many international cuisines, so in our opinion, this is catered for young family with basic food choices with some what bland taste. Nothing to get too...
Read moreWhat a wonderful restaurant to dine in.. Definitely worth your time to go here, especially if you're going to the cinema nearby, because this Chinese restaurant certainly is excellent value for money.
On arrival the staff are very warm and welcoming and they explain what the restaurant is about..
And more importantly, they take the time to enquire about any allergies any of your party may have..
So that's a definite plus point in my opinion..
Seating areas are varied in terms of booths, open plan or a few more different styles of seating..
The food in terms of quality, quantity and variety that is available here will certainly keep the eyes looking and the taste buds tingling..
And here is another really good point, the staff don't leave small portions of food waiting in the trays..
They change regularly and you can see the trays being tip away and not mixed up with the new food dishes.. Which in my opinion, shows that this restaurant owners are very good at food management..
There are fresh fruits, jelly & ice cream, cakes for dessert..
There's even sweets for children and adults alike..
And talking about the young generation, who may not like a Chinese meal but mum & dad would like it, there's things like pizza, chicken nuggets, chips, sausages for the children to select and enjoy..
In my opinion, this is genuinely an excellent Chinese buffet restaurant..
We will definitely be back when we next visit the cinema...
Read moreMe and my partner came here for the buffet at lunchtime. There weren't much in the way of options (more on this later).
With the options we did have, we filled our plates with food and added the chicken curry.
The chicken curry was really weak and tasted watery, and we did not enjoy it (only ate 1-2 mouthfuls) and so asked for a refund, as it ruined the experience for us. The male server who dealt with us was really helpful, fair dues to him for being respectful.
We were told that if we came back for the dinner buffet, more options are available at that time. We may try again in the future.
I would have given it a 3 star overall (due to the service and what we were told about coming during the evening time). However, as we were getting up and ready to leave, we noticed there was a female server and a chef standing there staring at us, disrespectfully.
Normally, I try not to be too critical, but when you are served chinese chicken curry that is subpar, you'd expect people not to be happy about it, especially when there are limited options for that time.
Hopefully, the food and other staff will be...
