5-Star Review | Mala Project – A Perfect Blend of Authenticity and Innovation!

As a long-time lover of Sichuan cuisine, Mala Project completely exceeded my expectations! Their dry pot is a perfect balance of bold, authentic flavors with a creative twist that makes every bite unforgettable.

The variety of ingredients is impressive—you can customize your pot with fresh, high-quality options like crispy lotus root, flavorful tofu skin, and tender beef. The seasoning is spot on—numbing but not overpowering, spicy yet deeply aromatic. Every dish is carefully prepared to highlight the rich complexity of Sichuan spices.

Beyond the food, the ambiance is cozy and stylish, making it a great place for both casual meals and special gatherings. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready to offer recommendations and ensure a great dining experience.

If you’re looking for an authentic yet modern take on Sichuan dry pot, Mala Project is an absolute must-visit. I can’t wait to come back for another round of...

Food is very average, there are far far better Asian food places in the area. Customer service is none existent. Staff all hanging around, but give no guidance to customers. Is it a restaurant? Will we be shown to a table? Do we just sit anywhere? Is it fast food? Is it self service? Who knows? Eventually ordered from some miserable soul behind the counter, and when I tried to pay with my bank card, I was told it was cash only. (I wonder why 🤔💸💰). When I said I had no cash on me, a card reader magically appeared, and I was told abruptly 'bring cash next time!'😂 Thankfully, there won't be...

Dropped in for a quick dinner last night. From outside it gives the impression of being an Asian fast food cafe. But upon entering, if you walk past the fridges of fresh ingredients (for quick”pick your own” selection and cooking) there are actually quite a lot of spacious formal dining booths. Staff were very polite and helpful. There is an extensive menu and the food was absolutely delicious! Definitely going back soon, when I have...

We popped in for hotpot and were so impressed. Loads to choose from and had fun building my perfect hotpot. Fresh leafy greens, seafood, meat, mushrooms and more. There's 3 options to finish and I went for spicy soup based. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavour in the spicy sauce - epic. Great heat! Spacious well laid out restaurant and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back and try other options.

Very average hotpot. Compared to the other hotpot restaurant in Partick, there’s much less selection of food you can choose here so I’m not sure why it’s much more expensive here. There wasn’t even chicken or any hotpot balls. The soup base is basically water - we ordered 4 different soup bases but only the spicy one tasted different. Overall a bit disappointed for the price I’m paying. :(

Great place to have Hotpot or Mala stir fry near University of Glasgow. You can pick the food you want to cook or all you can eat hotpot. The service is great and people are always welcome and friendly. The beef noodle soup are very authentic and delicious. It is worth to try if you are keen to have authentic winter dishes in Glasgow!!
