Do yourself a favour and visit this lovely restaurant. It left me with the best impressions: Hospitable hosts, traditional Greek decor, clean and spotless, great ambience, exceptional service, delicious dishes, fair pricing.

Arriving Saturday just after 1 pm with a friend, we entered the doorway and were immediately greeted with a smile and a very friendly warm welcome.

We ordered a selection from the Meze, Dips, and Traditional Dishes sections of the varied menu: Tyropitakia (Mini feta cheese pies, wrapped in crispy filo pastry), Houmous, and Chicken Souvlaki. For drinks, we had a Mythos, and a coffee. We were asked if we wanted to have all of this together (traditional Greek way), rather than starters and then mains. We said yes, and were not disappointed.

Just fifteen minutes later our food arrived as promised. Everything looked and tasted absolutely νόστιμο (delicious). Special mention goes to the Souvlaki, with the chicken being cooked to perfection: tender, moist and full of flavour.

Tables were now filling up rapidly, but we were not rushed to leave, even taking our time with our coffees (mine being traditional Greek).

I've eaten in many Greek places over the years, and I can honestly say, this is one I'm definitely going back to again and again.

Σας ευχαριστω παρα πολυ (Thank...

My wife and I visited Maria's Greek Taverna yesterday as my wife had never tried Greek cuisine before. I took her specifically to treat her for her birthday and a work friend of mine recommended this place. My first experience of having Greek food was in Crete in 2017 and since then, I have been a big fan of Greek cuisine but what makes Greek food always special is the love and passion Greek people pour into their dishes more than anything and it goes hand in hand with the nature of Greek people in general - one of the friendliest and most welcoming people on this planet. True to my words, the food that we ordered in Maria's Greek Taverna was top class, the service was beyond excellent, the ambiance was really amazing (really missing Crete now :D) and the people who served us were awesome. I should have taken their names but every staff we saw there were really welcoming, kind and friendly. My wife was absolutely delighted and she thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we chose. Mission accomplished XD This is easily one of the most recommended...

This is a truly special place with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent food.

The staff are OUT OF THIS WORLD giving you a real sense that they're not just being nice because it's their job but rather because they really do care. Their care for each other, the communication and the way they work together as a team is also really good to see and that translates into the quality of their food.

You won't get cheap food here, but you will get good food and service from people who treat you less like a customer and more like a human, almost like an old friend they're really happy to see again.

I had a lamb shank sans the cheese (I do not like cheese) and it was FANTASTIC. I can't remember what my wife had but she adored it and ate the whole lot, unlike her to do that. She mentioned the salad that came with the meal was a little on the small side but really, in the light of everything that's good about this place, that's small fry.

We went as a family of 5 for a celebration. The restaurant wasn't packed but the atmosphere was great, as soon as we arrived the restaurant switched to its evening hanging lighting. The kitchen is in view so you can see the chefs preparing your food. Marios, was our waiter and runs the restaurant with his cousins. He was happy to answer questions and to chat with us when we wanted. He helped us with certain deals that we had missed, which saved us money! The food was excellent and fresh. They encouraged us to share the starters with ew each other by offering us multiple plates. Tuesdays to Thursdays you can get a 3 course meal for £20 each, which worked out to be a great deal for us. A variety of prices, lower to higher end so lots of options for everyone. Would definitely recommend!

Busy restaurant with authentic food and good prices. Service was pretty slow, after ordering wine we had to wait 15 minutes before it was served. We were persuaded to order lots of small dishes as that was “traditional” but were disappointed with a few of the dishes when they arrived; the cauliflower was cold and tasteless, the beef in a very watery sauce and the humous was very watery too. We were told that’s how humous normally tastes, but I’ve tasted a lot and never had that before; they did swap this for another dip. We were still hungry when we left, so would suggest going for the more standard meat skewers, chips and flatbread or the lamb shank which looked really nice being served around us. Cheese parcels the best but a shame they weren’t served with honey.
