First time customer. I searched for Indian restaurants in the area and found this one highly rated. I don't know if I arrived at a bad time, but I was surprised at how utterly unfriendly the staff were. An elder male employee behind the bar took charge of serving me, and was rude. I wasn't greeted as I entered, and when acknowledged was spoken to as if I was a lower rank in the army. I was told to sit by the door, told to clean my hands, then told again to come to the bar to pay, told to sit down, then handed my food and that was it. No please, no thank you, barely any eye contact. It was as clinical as a doctor's surgery but let us remember - you may want to be a doctor, but you are not. It seems that these guys are used to serving others, and the minute they are put into a position of responsibility whereby they can advise the customer how to behave, they decide they, now, are boss and no longer need to smile, greet or give service. I've worked in hospitality for years, and would never dream of ordering people around the restaurant. They too have been working all day, and wish to be relaxed, greeted with sincerity, given their food with a smile and wished well - it's part of the service that is being paid for. You don't order the customer around like a dog, go here, go there. Simply use the word please, and ask the customer to sanitise, and kindly wait by the door. Make eye contact. They are the reason your food outlet is open and you're able to support your families. Whether they sit, or stand is up to them. 90% will oblige, and the rest can be talked to more firmly, after kindly asking if necessary. This really left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, yet backs were turned and they simply waited for me to leave. So much...

We were seated quickly by friendly staff although our table seemed to be in the way so the staff kept adjusting it throughout the starters. Food arrived hot and was very nice, although after this it went downhill a little in my opinion. Our plates were whisked away (even though members of the group were still eating!) and we weren't offered whether we wanted to keep any of our food as had only eaten half as the portions were so generous (have previously visited and have been allowed to take home the 'doggie bags'). I've never had a bill presented so quickly, and we didn't even ask for it, which came promptly after our plates were cleared. We paid as the waiter came over to collect the bill but weren't ready to leave. Unfortunately after a few minutes of chatting we were asked to vacate our table as other customers were waiting to be seated, despite the back of the restaurant not being full. We were offered to sit in the 'lounge area' at the front of the restaurant and chat but this didn't appeal to us as it's not the same as being sat around the table after your meal to converse.
Overall a nice meal and atmosphere but the group felt rushed towards the end and it may have just been a busy night but I've never been asked to vacate...
Read moreIn short I have no words to explain the auntenticity of this dine in because it was more that excellent. Also the service was fabulous i was really cherished with the way they served and the way they welcomed the people, my family was soo pleased and happy with the way they treated us and last but not the least the dishes was just WOW! dishes i just can't get praise just 1 dish every dish we ordered was mouthwatering, wish we could always have a dine out whenever we go out, Cardiff is the centre town with many restaurants but never been to such an authentic place ever. Whenever we travel to different place out of our country we always wish to have the sense of our taste especially when we visit to our Indian Restaurant but the fact is we always lose the hope with the food and can't blame because the availability of the stuff and masalas differ from place to place, but this place brought my sense of taste back to that level which made me to think about my motherland..... Oh wow what a taste i just have the sense yet iny tongue... Such a delighted dishes.. Thank God that wecan move to this place whenever we miss homely for home made food😍. Its just mesmerizing........
