Very poor experience to which I wouldn’t go back. My partner and I popped in for a slice of pepperoni at which time they only had two pizzas on offer (the store was empty when we arrived and was so for the majority of the time we were there). My partner ordered a margarita which was one of the two options currently available and I decided to wait for a fresh pepperoni pizza to be made.
I asked three times for the margarita to be served at the same time as the pepperoni when ready but staff member serving was too busy chatting with other kitchen staff to listen and served the margarita immediately and said he’d bring the pepperoni to the table when ready.
As we sat for a considerable length of time (enough for my partner to finished her slice and then some) I observed the pepperoni pizza finally being removed from the oven and placed inside the display counter just as a large group of school children arrived. The staff member then began immediately serving the school children multiple slices of pepperoni seemingly having forgotten I was waiting for a my slice. After 3 school children had been served I had to get up and remind the staff member that I was still waiting on a slice of pepperoni. If I hadn’t I’m certain the entire pepperoni pizza would have been served to the group of hungry school children.
Having finally received my slice I found the quality and size of pizza slice was nothing special and the poor experience further added to the fact I will never return.
There are much better pizza places in Glasgow and I recommend looking elsewhere to avoid a disappointing, or at very best, a...
Read morePretty disappointed overall. I tried 5 slices, 3 different types. The bases are too thick and too crispy for a NY slice. It goes hard far too quickly. It’s just not NY pizza. The slices are 33-50% of the size of a slice you get in NY. It is expensive for what it is. Although even if it was £2 a slice, it’s not worth it. I absolutely love pizza but unfortunately won’t be going back to Sears. Great idea, bad execution. I heard about it a couple months back and was the start of Dec 24 I went there with a friend. There are pizza shops opening a lot now in Glasgow and the Southside competition is running away with it tbh. You can’t buy by the slice at my favourite and quite possibly the very best “hot pizza” joint in Scotland but it is in a different league to Sears. Sears comes across as a great idea but it has not been executed with pride and I suspect the fad will shortly die off unless they figure out how to make NY slices. The store door needs fixed, the slices need to not sit in the display the way they do currently and the prices need halved. Sorry guys but it’s lacking a lot. Edit: A NY pizza slice is an 8th of a 18"-24" pie. An 18" is the smallest considered to be acceptable in NY. Most serve slices from 20-22". Joe's which is the most well known in NY (and perfectly made might I add) changed from a 20" to a 21" pie not...
Read moreTried for the first time on Friday last week (10/1/25) popped in with my partner and my daughter, probably just after 5ish. By good fortune we timed it perfectly, as whilst waiting for our order it became mobbed.... This is great to see!
Hats off to the owners and team - the feel and neighbourhood vibe is bang on and the staff were great, asking if we'd been before and walking us through the menu, etc.... We opted for a full pie to takeaway (vodka sauce one!), made from scratch and got a pepperoni slice to share whilst waiting! Was not disappointed! The pepperoni slice was crispy and full of flavour, the base had a great undercarriage with good quality cheese!
Now, the vodka sauce one, this is god tier pizza, don't care what anyone says! This really is something to be proud of, quite simply it's magnificent - very, very impressed!
We will be back without doubt.
Massive thanks to the staff also - My small daughter left her hat behind and instead of binning it, you guys kept a hold of it, for us to come and collect a few days later - genuinely appreciate that.
All the best to team Sears!
(P.s. Just for clarity - no, we didn't give any vodka sauce pizza to...
