Sonley's Cafe — Restaurant in Great Britain

After a heavy night, savouring the delights of hull's old town pubs with my son and a few males of my family, this morning we both needed a proper breakfast or, at least, something to settle our rumbling tums and sore heeds. We came across a chalked sign that just said "CAFE OPEN!" - Spot on! It's a small place but despite the downstairs having being taken over by 12 (hungry) Full English Breakfast Critics we trundled upstairs and were accommodated at a small table. The lady explained that our order would be 15 to 20 minutes but we decided that we would wait and we're rewarded with drinks on the house. Bacon, egg, sausage and tomatoes sandwiches (doorsteps) or B.E.S.T , were devoured with much enthusiasm and it settled our abused tums. A great little place, food is top drawer, clean and welcoming premises and it is run by good people. Very, very reasonable prices too. I, for one will be revisiting Ms Sonleys eaterie, again....

A Bright and Friendly Start to the Day at Sonleys! My partner and I popped into Sonleys yesterday, and what a delightful find it was! From the moment we walked in, we were struck by how clean, colourful, and modern the cafe felt. It's clear the owners have put a lot of thought into creating a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere. I went for the cooked breakfast, and it was spot on – everything you'd want to kickstart your day. And for a sweet finish, I indulged in both a brownie and a rice crispy cake, both of which were delicious treats. My partner was equally happy with their bacon sausage sandwich, a classic done right. What really made our visit, though, were the owners. They were incredibly friendly and really made us feel at home. It's always a pleasure to visit a place where you feel genuinely welcomed. It’s the kind of café you want to come back to again and again. I tried the Full English breakfast at Sonleys, and it was absolutely spot on! Everything was cooked to perfection — crispy bacon, golden hash browns, perfectly fried eggs, and sausages that were packed with flavor. The portion size was generous, and it came out piping hot, just the way a hearty breakfast should be.

What I loved most was the balance: nothing felt greasy or heavy, just well-prepared and full of taste. The toast was perfectly crisp, and the beans tied it all together nicely. Pairing it with a fresh cup of tea made it a truly satisfying start to the day.
