My wife and I were staying in Leicester after having watched the brilliant England Red Roses Rugby team play Spain. We were in the Voco hotel on the Leicester Tigers ground and know nothing about eateries in the area, We happened across a few positive reviews for The 72 Bar & Restaurant located in Brazil Street, a ten minute walk from the hotel. What a find! I rarely give huge accolades for places that we eat in as often the food can be average and not freshly cooked. Not here. The food was outstanding. Really superb in flavour and it was hot, served on a flat TAWA. We were hungry so we opted for the 72 Chef's Special, which was far too much for us. But every mouthful was so delicious. It is basically an Indian mixed grill, forgive me if that is a crude definition, but the only tiny criticism we both had was that we could have done without the English chips. Congratulations to the chefs, and thank you to the waitress, she was lovely with us. What a place. Surprisingly there were few diners in the restaurant at 7.30 pm so the atmosphere was quiet. 72 Bar & Restaurant is a hidden gem! The ambience is sleek and modern, with a cosy atmosphere that's perfect for a night out with friends or a date.

The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff, especially "TIAGO" who go above and beyond to ensure you have a great experience. And we got extra complimentary chocolates from him.

But the real star of the show is the food and drinks! The menu is diverse and exciting, with everything from classic Mocktails to innovative fusion dishes. We tried the Chilli Chicken and Chicken Biryani 💖, both of which were delicious. Chicken Biryani.... the flavours of the Chicken Biryani were not too much or too low. It was perfect. I want to visit again here just to eat the Biryani. I never had this type of Biryanis anywhere. Very tasty 😋 😍. The Chutneys tasted delicious. They're homemade Chutneys. Especially the Mango 🥭 Chutney.
