Oh the food was dreadful 😕 most horrible experience of my life. I've ordered today 25th July 2024 rost pork with mashed potatoes and yokshire pudding.The pork tasted very old a fridge dreadful taste.I had to stop it was horrible.I was starving as I didn't ate anything since yesterday so at 15:56 I had to eat something so my hubby took the pork and I took the burger. The burger was so bland had no salad added or pickles or anything, was just the hard burger meat very dry the bread wet full of some fat, that's it and an wooden stick to give a delicious illusion. Even starved as I was , the burger was just nothing I ever eaten in my life very disappointing I will never ever go back again and we've spent £36 . As that was not enough when I've tasted my husband's beer the Stella Artois was FLAT , FLAT! As proof I only took a picture of the "" Roast pork of the Day"" !wawww and the mashed potatoe was a spoon only the rest was a big soggy yokshire pudding full of boiled big carrots looking like big sausages some hard whole potatoes and boiled peas. Was starving when finally arrived at Fort William after the total of more than 6 hours mixed train and bus trip from Edinburgh without any chance to buy food in between, I'm so grateful we found this place not too far from the station and it was one if the veat bar food ever! 🤩

I believe it's not only because we were starving, but I bet the food was truly super yummy! They put extra touch on everything, even including the tap water! 👍

We were served immediately when we sit, the waitress took our orders at our table and the hot drinks came first just few minutes after we ordered. 😊

I had Rump steak 🥩 with hot chocolate and tap water, while he had Crofter Burger 🍔 with hot tea. Our hot drinks came first before the food. I like the simple touch of putting the marshmallow separately from the hot chocolate, so the customer has option either to add it into the drink or not. The way they serve the hot tea also nice. It came in a pot with double tea bag and a separate milk. ☕

The steak, OMG, it was such a huge portion! Am sooo happy! The big chuncks of chips, the big cut if steak, the nice peas, mushrooms stick to the onion rings and the magical fresh and big super juicy tomatoes for only £12.90! Loved it soo much! Upon arrival to Fort William in morning hours I started to look for a place to drink a coffee so I entered the premises. However there was no board to say that waiting to be seated is necessary. Every proper restaurant has this board and I always follow to code and I'm waiting for the waiter. As no one came to me I decided to take a seat on my own. When I asked waiter for a menu, he responded that I cannot be served as no one seated me and I cannot go to the place like that. I told him I was looking for a board to say "wait here to be seated" but I couldn't find it, and as no one came I thought that taking a sit on my own is ok especially if there was no warning. Waiter gave me menu at the end but told me to follow the rules next time. However I decided to leave the place and not spend any penny as I was treated unfairly and waiter was rude. Waiter should have been nicer and should make the customers to feel like they are in right place to eat. This is not accepted that representative of the bar/restaurant is blaming customers for bar/restaurant mistakes. If you want this place to be treated like a proper restaurant please put visible board to say "please wait to be seated". Also this waiter should learn to know the manner.
