At the door there is a sign that reads, please wait to be seated. At least five minutes later we are still waiting to be seated. I have already read other reviews stating that delays can occur when the cafe is busy. However when we arrived there was at least five tables free. It was another customer that made us aware we could take a seat since the staff blatantly ignored us. My mum went to the toilet to wash her hands to be confronted with sky high floating jobbies. Giving them the benefit of the doubt as anyone can have a plumbing issue was a costly mistake. We ordered our food and waited. The "toasties" (we use that term loosley) arrived before the tattie and leek soup. There was clearly as much effort put into making that soup as I will put into returning to this godawful cafe again. The "toasties" were toasted bread with bland cheese congealed inbetween and the gluten free option was even worse. It was truly the worst "toasties" we've ever eaten. The only tip I would leave to any potential future customers is keep driving and to the owner shut down and do...

The owner is extremely rude and came to our table to basically scold us for not being impressed by the terribly tasteless and dry sandwich we had been served. It was an extremely uncomfortable atmosphere and you can tell the staff are frightened of the owner. No background music/radio playing for a bit of ambience. It’s a shame really as the high street is dying and this looked to be one of the very few decent places to go. I guess they survive on passing trade, however we do go this way regularly for long weekends and will not be passing through here again. Absolute vibe killer and the food is to be honest extremely basic and tasteless. The coffee was okay. Bread was dry and the cheese slice looked plastic. Garnish and everything overall was lacking. Salad definitely unwashed and out of a bag. Just no effort and not worth the money at all. I’ve attached a pic of my sandwich then the “kids” sandwich. Apparently the owner was insulted as it’s “ good quality bread” . No other comments regarding everything else. Just that she stands by this bread! Lol...

Mediocre food and a long wait for a simple coffee (single espresso) that ends up tasting bad. Perhaps the guy at the coffee machine should take a trip to Italy to learn how to use this machine efficiently, perhaps even with both streams.

@ Owner's comment: Perhaps you should focus on improving your personal service and food, as you clearly acknowledge that it is bad, rather than making up stories to cover it up. What do you expect when customers have to wait 40 minutes for an espresso? From what I saw, the food was also made by an adult and was mediocre at best! When I left I looked you straight in the eye and told you my honest opinion (free country last time I checked) but you ignored it. So leave your boy, who was by far the best employee in your establishment, out of your story to get some sympathy and work on your...

A really fantastic place for lunch. I will be thinking about the panini's we ordered for a long time. The bread they make it on is fantastic. They had a brie and cranberry panini that was amazing. Their panini's are 5/5 stars I docked a star for 2 reasons: First, the service is not very good at all. Really cold and just not friendly. Second, their desserts are very mediocre. We tried two different desserts and they both were a let down. The "Hawaiian" bar is just coconut and kind of bland. Despite these things, I would definitely recommend eating here for lunch!
