Absolutely Horrendous – Avoid at All Costs!

If I could give Nevis Bakery zero stars, I would. This place is an absolute disaster from start to finish. First off, the bacon rolls were stone cold, as if they had been sitting out all morning. The pies? Microwaved, stale, and barely edible. I wouldn’t feed them to a stray dog.

The worst part? The customer service—or rather, the complete lack of it. The woman behind the counter was the rudest person I have ever encountered, acting as if serving us was an unbearable inconvenience. No manners, no smile, just pure hostility.

And let’s talk about the prices. Ridiculously high for what we got. Two bacon rolls and two pies should not cost a small fortune, especially when they taste this bad.

As if things couldn’t get worse, the place itself looked filthy and unkempt—not exactly what you want when ordering food. I wouldn’t be surprised if it fails a hygiene inspection.

Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. This place is a joke. Avoid...

Cheap and cheerful sounds like damning praise, but it's the best way to describe this brilliant little local bakery. They have an array of different pies and hot food to choose from - the chicken, haggis and peppercorn pie was exactly what I needed after a night enjoying Fort William's hospitality!

What struck me was the queue coming out of this place pretty much permanently during our stay (always a good sign), but also how friendly and patient the ladies serving were. It would've been easy to lose their rag with the amount they had to explain different products to curious tourists, but they were genuinely happy to do this over and over.

Great food, affordable prices, and staff that are happy to give you a proper...

There are only a handful of times I’ve ever received such appalling service, especially for such a brief encounter. When I arrived at the bakery there was one person in front of us and one person behind. The lady practically yelled “next”, which was unnecessary. I was in search for a vegetarian lunch option as the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. When asking her what was inside her pasty she was cold and rude. There were very minimal options for vegetarians for things we’d want to eat. But, since we were already there we figured we’d go ahead and buy the “award winning” shortbread. I wouldn’t hurry back to the bakery and definitely wouldn’t recommend going if that is how they chose to...

Don’t be fooled by its unassuming exterior, this place is an absolute gem in Fort William! For less than 4 pounds you get a lunch deal with soup and scotch pie/sausage roll. I was reeled in by their humble lunch offering, then amazed by how much quality they delivered. Best potato and leek soup I’ve had. They’ve done so much with such a staple. Added plenty of herbs, used high quality stock. Scotch pie was delightful as well. Heard while in line that they’ve won awards for it. Next time I’ll be back to try their shortbreads. They don’t have seating. But there are benches out in the Square and an open grass area next to Tesco.

Had the lunch to go as advertised outside the bakery. Really filling and good value. The que was almost out the door, and the two ladies serving was doing their best. Two separate counters and tills would help better. Nothing as annoying as a tourist dithering over cash or, card payments. And only one item being bought. Pie's taste superb.

I went all the way from Wales to taste the Scotch pies as this bakery won the top award for Scotch pie in 2018 and 2019. Certainly the best. The steak pie was also scrumptious. The ladies making the pies are also very friendly. There is a long queue when I arrive but it is worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable.
