AWSOME FOOD, AWSOME SERVICE, LONG-LASTING FRIEND FOR LIFE!!
This place is brilliant, the best in 'Boro' by a mile. Some Indian restaurants have the atmosphere just right but the food turns up on tiny trays, slightly warm and looking limp. Others get the food right but you feel like you are sat in Santa's Grotto, staffed by mysterious elves who disappear when you need them. The Massala Restaurant is well run, uses fresh ingredients prepared to order and the staff are genuinely bothered about how happy you are, at every stage. 5 of us ate on a Thursday for an average ÂŁ20 each including beer, cider and soft drinks. I will go again soon and try other dishes. During lock-down we used a lot of delivery services and this place will deliver too I am told but now I want to sit and eat at the venue. What I noticed first when the food arrived, was the garlic naan bread, straight from the tandoor oven - so hot and slightly singed with a lovely garlic flavoured sheen... the starters were ample and the main courses were excellent. The place is spotlessly clean and service staff all wear face covering, helping the social-distance measures seem real but unobtrusive. Finally, our son is Vegan and he had real choices that made him happy as well as being well fed. This is rarely achieved. Well done to...
Read moreWe a group of four went to have our dinner this evening. But faced a very unfortunate situation. There was only one waiter serving and as soon as we popped in he asked if we were students and forced us to go for take away by hadging us take away menu saying that will cost us less money. When we told that we want to eat in he got so reluctant and said "No discount then". We never asked for any discount or anything. Even we were not offered any table. After that without listening to our order he rushed on to serve a new guest and brought the drinks which we did not want. When we asked to return those he rudely replied saying "Can't do anything you have to take it". We asked for a manager and he refused saying he is the only boss here. We just left then without having any food. This is the worst experience I have ever had. I went to this restaurant for the first time and never going there again. Worst possible service. Itâs a shame. As a human being no one expect such rude and unprofessional behaviour from someone. The server did not felt any remorse or anything. Seems like he does not care if anyone eats in the...
Read moreWe went last night as group of 4. The food was excellent, so good. Authentic, tasty and spot on heat wise. We had 4 mains, 2 rice dishes, naan, poppadoms, a bottle of wine, a lager and soft drink and it came to £20 a head which I thought was very fair.
Cleanliness was also on point, couldnât fault it. Heated Dinner Plates were given in addition to the individual food plates, as well as cloth napkins, pack of hot hand cleaning wipes and mints at the end of the meal: a nice touch.
The only thing that let our experience down is we were on a table where right above us there was a speaker buzzing whilst playing music. It was annoying, but other than that this place was fantastic. If youâre the restaurant reading this the speaker is located about half way down on the right next at the top of the pillar.
Weâll 100% be...
