We have been here for drinks before and liked it so decided to try it for dinner. Very disappointed particularly by the service which was extremely slow. We waited 30 mins before anyone spoke to us or took an order. During this time there were plenty of staff around and not many customers and all the staff were prioritising other tasks such as setting empty tables. We were hoping our drinks would arrive while we waited for food but instead the starter came first and when I asked about our drinks I was told the bar was very busy. Starter was nice. Drinks arrived eventually. Main course arrived (without cutlery) and we asked if we could order wine. Waitress looked flustered and said there was a backlog at the bar but she would investigate to see how long a glass of wine would take! She never returned. Eventually I asked a more senior member of staff who apologised, and said there was no backlog and we could have wine. It still took a while to arrive and by then we'd almost finished our food. Burger and chips were good but veg Thai curry was disappointing as it was full of tinned/frozen sweetcorn. Throughout the meal we could hear a lot of the conversations between staff and there seemed to be a lot of discussion about who was supposed to be doing what, and what mistakes had been made, and the overall impression was that the team were too inexperienced to provide customers with a smooth, efficient and enjoyable...

We had booked a table 7 days in advance and we're looking forward to a birthday dinner. We specifically booked table 41 as been to the Saint before. We arrived in plenty of time. We were eventually shown to our seat having to ask if our table was eventually ready!!! We were then shown to our table and that was the last we seen of anyone. We eventually then had to ask after 32 minutes if we were being served? Not once were we asked if we wanted a drink and that it was busy as we would have been ok with that but nothing!! The Young lady we spoke to looked as though she was a rabbit caught in the headlights. Other diners watching and at this point myself and my wife left the restaurant. it is not the Saints problem but we have had a very tough year with family loss and we're hoping this would be perfect. Not!!. Such a shame. Lady who was doing front of house very apologetic. Service is key in this industry and taking care of guests as even to tell them that they are busy and will be with you shortly would have helped but to be ignored totally was embarrassing to us both. We always enjoyed the Saint as up in St.Andrews a lot but don't think we will be back. Gordon &...

I have dined at The Saint numerous times, but last night my experience was horrendous. Megan M, our server, had an evident negative attitude and seemed to be irritated to have to serve my family. Additionally, she ID’ed one of my family members (which I understand is her job), but then did not ask for the ID of two other members of my family and my peers at neighboring tables. Her reasoning was that “the big bosses” were in during her shift and that she had to ask everyone. Yet, she did not ask everyone like she claimed- coming across as targeted/blatant rudeness. On top of that, she never checked in on our meal and never asked if we needed anything. By the time we had finished, we were all ready for dessert, but when she came back to our table with a box, she handed us a check. Megan did not ask if we wanted dessert or asked if we enjoyed our meal. Her drab attitude lost the restaurant revenue and I will not return or recommend The Saint to anyone ever again. Overall, definitely not worth the value and the food was subpar. Megan was rude to us and made us feel like we were less than other diners- it seemed like she was...

As January is very quiet and such a long month, I decided to go out solo for a meal and treat myself. I visited The Saint and it was quite quiet which was nice as it meant I could relax. I ordered the soup to start which was Lentil, it came with some soft fresh bread and butter - great tasty starter. Then for the main I had mini mac and cheese and chips, I do wish I’d got the bigger portion as it was very good! But , it made room for dessert. I had the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream, so tasty and a lovely dessert to finish a beautiful meal. The service was also very good, all staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Since discovering The Saint , it has become a favourite and I always look forward to the next visit! A lovely January solo visit.

We were in St Andrews specifically because our two daughters were sharing a caravan with their kidz on the sunny south high ground overlooking the bay. What a fabulous spot it was too. We all met up at The Saint Bar and Restaurant which was going great guns that Wednesday; they had all eaten already so, being hungry, we decided that the food looked good there ... so we ordered some stuff to eat in the warm, sunny afternoon gardens at the rear. When our food came, I was surprised how sophisticated and well served plated was our choices. Needless to say, it all tasted just dandy ... proving the age-old adage that if it looks professional, and it is delivered in the right manner, you can bet it's going to taste good too.

We didn‘t stay here, we where here just for dinner. We had to order online - which was no problem. But we ordered our whole dinner at once, starters and main courses and drinks. They brought everything together instead of thinking that we might want to have the starters first. We had burgers which where - after they took them back - dry as hell. The rest of the food was „ok“ - nothing special. We had to get our cutlery ourselves, which was no problem - but why the waitress couldn‘t bring them when passing by there with our drinks and telling us we need to get them ourselves we will not understand. I wouldn‘t eat here again.
