We had a lunch there on Saturday and got o say it was fabulous. The staff were incredibly understanding as we swapped tables during our stay as more visitors came to join us. What a great bunch and thanks to the manager for the banter and putting up with our noise and nonsense on a busy Sat afternoon. The starters were tasty and enjoyable but the fabulous fudge donuts were to die for. Another big surprise was the cost for lunch in St.Andrews we were pleasantly surprised how cheap it was. Certainly go back to Fisher and Donaldson next time we're in St. Andrews.

Enjoyed a lovely solo lunch at this sweet local bakery cafe. The roll was seeded and fresh with a tasty cheese and onion chutney filling and generous side of kettle crisps and salad. The staff were friendly, the cafe clean and welcoming with indoor and outdoor seating and it was very reasonably priced. I think I paid about £7.50 and that included a drink. Would recommend!

The best pastry shop I have found in Scotland so far. Large variety of sweets, desserts and pies at a decent price. The sweet in the picture was filled with chocolate mousse, believe me, quantity is enough to satisfy even a big guy. It will make you desire to go again and try something else. I think a must visit place if you go to St Andrews

Shocking experience. Unpleasant staff, not a smile or eye contact made by either of them. Tray dumped on our (dirty) table, hanging off the edge. Had to ask for chocolate on my cappuccino because it arrived without, seemed like a real hassle for the waitress. Filthy table, had to ask for it to be cleaned. Still filthy after a half-hearted attempt was made to clean it. Lots of customer service training required, or replacement staff! Will never return or recommend. Pity, as the coffee was good when they got it right.

UPDATE: I got in touch with cafe owners who were very apologetic and issued a voucher for 2 coffees. On this basis, we will return as the coffee and surroundings were...

My experience today Was disappointing to say the least . The staff were miserable , no pleased thank you or have a nice day between them , particular note was I would assume was the person in charge , who had set her stall out on the table adjacent to the counter ,surely the customer should come first ! And on a hygiene and appearance note she was also waiting on , not wearing a apron and her sweatshirt had random food stains on . The couple next to me waited far to long for there order and the stovies that arrived looked awful , a pile of dry potatoes. This is not expected from any establishment, especially Fisher...

Nice atmosphere, but unclean. Saucers and teacups were mucky and the milk given with tea was given in a clearly used bottle and when asked for a clean one they gave the same one back with more milk in. Tables were sitting dirty which was surprising considering staff were idle. Quality of food itself was good, toastie and sandwich were fresh as well as the side salad, but the side crisps were soft. I don't like sitting down and giving bad reviews but felt it was justified as the cafe has the capability of being a nice place but has been let down on its complete lack of hygiene, which isnt forgivable at the...
