Commendation for Sam at Tim Hortons – Derby Wayverne + The Cashier I would like to take this opportunity to commend Sam, a staff member at the Tim Hortons on Derby Wayverne. My wife visited your location earlier today, around 9:15am, and immediately noticed Sam working diligently and meticulously to clean the entire shop. Throughout her time there, Sam was consistently attentive—exceptionally detailed and hardworking, ensuring every corner was spotless. Several hours later, I arrived at 1:00pm to join my wife and, without any prior conversation about it, I was also struck by Sam’s exceptional attention to cleanliness. It is rare to see this level of dedication and pride in one’s work in the food and beverage industry, especially compared to other restaurants in the area. My wife and I had a brief conversation with Sam to thank and motivate her, but we wanted to ensure her hard work does not go unnoticed publicly. We sincerely hope this commendation also finds its way to management. Beyond the food and beverages we ordered, it’s the outstanding work ethic and positive attitude of staff like Sam that leaves a lasting, positive impression on customers. Her dedication not only enhances the overall experience but also sets an admirable standard of service for the entire team. Thank you, Sam, for your commitment to excellence. To Tim Hortons management Tim Hortons, Wyvern Way, Wyvernside, Derby DE21 6RS This used to.be the best coffee shop in Derby by far. However, this past few months there has been no air conditioning inside. I stopped going there because of this and returned today thinking it would have been fixed by now. Can't believe it is NOT fixed and there are only a handful of people in there due to the heat. I tried to sit down in there but had to leave and drink my coffee in my car in the car park which sucks as I came here to sit in the nice coffee shop ! Most of all I feel sorry for the staff who work there. Even under these unbearable conditions, which must surely contravene Health & Safety regulations, they are absolutely terrific and do a great job considering the awful working conditions The air conditioning needs to be fixed urgently, as it is clearly a Health & Safety for those poor staff that work there. I am surprised they don't faint in the heat in the working area behind the counter. TIM HORTON MANAGEMENT....FIX IT NOW ! Also, on a separate note, there is a good size seating area outside but no table & chairs for the customers. Why ? You are losing customers left, right and centre here. All you need to do is fix the A/C and buy some tables and chairs and you will once again have the best and most popular coffee shop in Derby making you lots more money/profits. I am deeply frustrated with my recent experience at Tim Hortons, Derby Pride Park. On two separate occasions, I’ve ordered a Veggie Breakfast Wrap, and both times I was served a wrap containing bacon (pork), despite clearly requesting a vegetarian option. As a Muslim, I do not consume pork, and this repeated mistake is both careless and disrespectful. The first time, the manager, Maniesh, was apologetic, but the second incident makes it clear that this isn’t just a one-off mistake — it’s a consistent issue with staff failing to take basic care in fulfilling orders correctly. It’s incredibly concerning that this continues to happen, especially given the importance of respecting customers’ dietary restrictions and preferences. It feels as though the staff at this location either lack proper training or are not taking their responsibilities seriously. Regardless of the cause, this is a serious oversight, and I’m disappointed by the lack of attention to detail. It’s unacceptable that something so simple is repeatedly mishandled, especially when it involves dietary needs tied to religious beliefs. I will not be returning to this branch unless I see immediate and lasting improvements in how orders are handled, and how customers are treated with the respect they deserve. This experience has left me with no confidence in the service provided here.

Yesterday, I had tried my first ever Tim Hortons experience in your new Derby Branch. It was by no means a pleasant experience.

Once I entered the restaurant I was shocked at the standard of hygiene you hold. I was disgusted in fact.

Nevertheless we used the ordering machines and placed our order. (2 Chicken Burger meals & 2 hotdogs.) as we were curious what your food and drinks were like.

Once we received our food and sat down at our table, I had noticed they were missing one portion of fries. This is not a big issue, these things happen occasionally, we are all human. So I took the bag of food back to the counter and showed the staff that the bag was missing a portion of fries.

This is where the issues begun.

The lady I had showed the bag to was confused at my request for the portion of fries due to they are missing. After her confusion, as she was holding another customers bag of food which she was waiting for them to collect, she had put her bare hand into the bag, picked up the other customers fries by the top, touching all of the fries with her hand and proceeded to attempt to hand them to me, still holding the box by the top with her palm covering the opening…

I refused these fries, I said I do not want another customers fries which you have touched all over with your hands and that I wanted a fresh batch to be provided to me.

Again, I received this confused look and she asked why? Not only did she not understand the fact she was removing food from another customer’s bag of food who was stood behind me, but that I did not want food she had touched with her bare palms whilst touching other parts of the restaurant.

She just wouldn’t provide me a replacement which was not touched by her disgusting hands. So I go to find the manager, who, as it turned out was stood next to her listening to what was going on and doing nothing about this. I said to him, in absolute disbelief of the situation, you heard this right? She is touching my food with her bare hands and I do not want this disgusting food. He had responded “sorry she is new” I had then said to him, Is this a joke? Is that your only response? He then asked them to make me the fries which I had been stood around practically arguing over. I said to him, this hygiene is a joke, why are you not fixing this? Why are you not telling her what she needs to do right? This place is disgusting and you’re touching my food with your probably unwashed hands. I then asked who the owning franchisee was, he just looked at me like a deer stood in headlights and just didnt respond, I stood there for about 30 seconds in disbelief that he refused to answer me so that I could aire my concerns with them directly.

Nevertheless, in the absence of the ability to contact the franchisee owner, I will instead air my concerns to yourself and will be providing the following images in serval reviews regarding your staff, your hygiene and your disgusting behaviour and conduct.

AVOID ! AVOID ! AVOID ! RUDE ! RUDE ! RUDE!

Drive thru order initially greeted by a very kind lady taking our order.

Half way through the order we get rudely interrupted by the general manager saying i will be with you in a minute. Very strange when halfway through our order already.

We had to repeat the order back again and he got it wrong and would not repeat the order back after asking him to due to it being incorrect on the screen.

We got to the window where a lady asked for payment i asked her if it was her taking the initial order she denied it was her.

I then said to her if it was you taking the order not to worry i thought you were doing a great job until you were rudely interrupted. She admitted it was her general manager.

She then admitted that it was her and she is currently training.

Her boss cut her off and was rude to us! And he's training her! OMG shocking. I asked to speak to him he wouldn't come to the drive through window ( coward).

The young lady couldn't apologise enough for his behaviour ( not her fault) I told her not to take any advice from such a rude ill mannered man! and for her not to be belittled by him. He needs sacking ASAP no respect for women, customers or staff. Date of visit 21/11/2022 @ 19:45pm.

P.S Food was awful clearly fries had been under a heat lamp for a very long time. Milkshake was like bits of crushed ice and zero flavour. Burgers were okay but thrown together and not worth the money.

Tim Hortons can i suggest you pay a visit to this site asap and observe the ill mannered staff and address the poor quality of food and cleanliness.

I think the management clearly need a shake as i think the term " MANAGER " may have gotten to someone's head a little to much.

Sorry you have to work with such a 🔔🔚 .

Will not be back ( AVOID TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND EXTREMELY RUDE MEMBER...
