Westbird Cafe Bar — Restaurant in Great Britain

We were really looking forward to trying a new coffee place in Westbourne and we were sadly disappointed. When you walk in it seems like a sit down & order place because there’s no ‘order here’ sign or menus on the wall, only menus on tables, so we awkwardly waited by the counter to be served. We ordered an iced latte with caramel and a cappuccino to takeaway. The very small counter/drinks area was unclean and dirty, used cups and saucers were pilled up on the counter behind. I felt sorry for the two girls who were taking orders and making drinks because it looks like a dysfunctional set up to make drinks.The coffee itself wasn’t very nice either, I couldn’t taste the caramel in mine at all and the coffee was very bitter and tasted burnt. My husband who likes stronger coffee couldn’t drink his either. We didn’t end up drinking the coffees and grabbed one from another independent coffee shop. Worse cafe experience I think I’ve ever had. Waited 5 mins for a table but waited 50 mins for our food. Coffee was half full no teaspoon and no saucer. It was so hot it burnt my throat. French toast was soggy. Covered in loads of ice cream was always going to be soggy. Breakfast took forever and arrived with uncooked eggs and cold. How can you serve uncooked eggs ? There was no way we were eating it so we left. It looks nice but service is not great having to ask for them to serve us. They didn’t even wipe any tables. Place looks nice but that is ridiculous waiting that long for an awful breakfast. Would never go back. Went somewhere else and had a really nice meal. Lots to choose from in Westbourne this cafe is relying on its appearance but its customer service is shocking...

So disappointed as I use to love this place. 2 hours to get our food and they forgot one of our orders. Table wasn’t ready when prebooked and glasses/cutlery were dirty. Got the matcha drinks, which didn’t look as advertised and coffee was lukewarm. Hash browns were fridge cold inside as if they haven’t been cooked through fully. The recurring theme was that the majority of the food was barely warm. When paying, our order wasn’t put onto a tab and we had to tell the waitress everything we ordered again.
