Whilst on a day trip to Yarmouth we decided to stop off for a pint and went to The Pier Tavern as it was the closest. Inside was clean and tidy with a pool table over in one side. The pricing for a pint of Smith's, Kronenbourg, 2 cokes and a latte was very reasonable considering where we were, but cheaper than or on-site pub. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Read moreA 'proper' British pier bar with all you'd expect from dodgy karaoke, disco, DJs, pool table and fruit machines, to families (no doubt on a break from nearby caravan parks) with feral children, and very 'normal' drinks. Prices are decent, however, though the service poor. The outside seating great (in the sun) for people watching. It shares its toilets with the fish and chips restaurant and the amusement arcade... and they're not the cleanest!
Having said that, we came back time after time, so it must have something...
Read moreWe often go to the Pier Tavern. The bar staff are friendly, but the disco music is over 120 db!!! I suggest the DJ goes for a hearing test! It is so loud, the speakers just vibrate, as they cannot cope with the level of sound. Our friends have stopped singing in the kareoke because their voices are drowned out!!
