Very disappointing. This burger place was recommended to me, so we decided to have lunch there whilst shopping in Guildford.
The server appeared to be quite irritated with us as we were trying to work out the menu. I had to say "we haven't been here before, can you let us know how it works please?". Surely he should have said "have you been here before.......?". He did become more helpful once I spoke to him.
The burgers were nothing special, in fact mine seemed to be a bit cold, and it was fairly tasteless and bland, with a soggy bap. The fries were good though.
We both decided that we will not be going back there again, far too expensive for a poor meal. Almost 30 pounds for two burgers wrapped up in a bit of foil like a packed lunch on a school trip, fries in a cup, no plates or cutlery, presumably to save on the washing up!!
Astonished by all the reviews on the walls, did they go to another place?? Apparently this is like a burger chain in the US, we've been to the US and had their burgers and they were very good, not like Five Guys at all!
Next time we will go back to Gourmet Burger Kitchen across the road, so much better,...
Read moreI had been reading great things about this place and was l looking forward to giving it a go as I do like a good burger ! What a disappointment !! Burger is seriously over priced for what it was ... it was just a mushy soggy mess and for £8.00 (for just the burger) I kinda expected something a little more substantial especially in the meat department. As for the Cajun fries, well they were just covered in a very powdery seasoning ... I love heavily season food but this was just like eating spoons of cajun powdered seasoning ...Not Good !! .... Although it was a big portion but for £4.00 for a regular portion I guess you would kind hope they wouldn't skimp on them. So a soggy burger and mountain of cajun seasoning and thankfully the drink was made by coke, set me back over £14 ... So not...
Read moreMost expensive burger meal I've ever ordered. Requested a one patty burger, got two patties: one undercooked and one overcooked. Didn't want cheese, but received a slice of processed cheese on the burger. French fries were way over-salted. Milkshake was not very good; too much syrup. Staff was friendly and helpful. The superior product claims and glowing accolades posted throughout the restaurant were not what we experienced. Other diners could deliver a better meal at a fraction of the price.
Sub-note: After this review, Five Guys requested that I contact them about the comments. However, for various reasons, we were unsuccessful in 'resolving' the complaint; though they were going to speak further with the location. Appreciate that they took the time to follow up...
