Ate here yesterday around 12 noon . I am a coeliac so we asked if any food was gluten free. Told that 1 of the noodle dishes and the chicken and cashew dish were gluten free. I did not like the look of my food which appeared very bland and the chicken peices looked odd, somewhat shiny or greasy. In the end I only had a few peices of chicken , vegetables and circa quarter of the rice. Server asked if I if I liked the meal, to which i said no its not to my taste. He then asked my wife (who is not a coeliac) " but yours is OK?" No further comment about my meal. We left after only 20 mins or so. 15 mins after that I started having stomach pains, bloating and toilet issues. I know when I've had gluten within half an hour of eating, and this 100% had gluten in. I'm writing this now at 5am the next morning as unable to sleep with gluten symptoms. Basically don't eat here if you're a coeliac or in any way...
Read moreThe food was very mediocre. I'm amazed that people talk of this place so highly. The meat in the meat balls and risole was disgusting, it was like dog food. The noodles were bland, the dumplings were served without soy sauce so were also bland. The crispy beef wasn't bad, a little dry but fair enough. The aubergine was so salty it was almost inedible. When asked if our food was OK I told them it was very low quality, and the waitress supposedly told the kitchen. Not a word said to me about it again. They clearly don't care. It's no wonder Han is empty, its because the food is poor. You can't re-dress the same thing, serve smaller portions for more money and expect people to be happy about it. There's numerous local Chinese take aways that do better food so I've no idea why anyone would...
Read moreI found this place as I was looking on line for Far East style food not too far from my town and the menu of Taste Social seemed very appealing; 'steamed buns' can't be found that easily and I decided to give it a try. This is in no way a traditional Chinese style restaurant, it is modern, clean and it is located near to Market Harborough town center. The food was absolutely delicious! A shame the place is not in Kettering, if it were, it'd be my "go to" take away place at least once a week. I look forward to go again before the end of March. The pulled pork steamed buns were ever so soft and tasty, the vegetarian starters with fried rice and those with shitaki mushroom...delicious! And the desserts very original and scrumptious. A small menu of perhaps ~ 25 items but well...
