In the heart of the city, where the cold February air bites just enough to remind you it's still winter, our day took a turn from the mundane to the remarkable. Fresh from a hunt for kids' shoes at Sports Direct, our little troop sought refuge and warmth in a place known as the Master Barista Cafe. It was the 17th of February, 2024, a day that would etch itself in memory with the taste of comfort and the aroma of expertly brewed coffee.
The cafe, a cozy haven amidst the grey, almost somber streets, welcomed us with the kind of warmth that only a place filled with the scent of coffee and baked goods can offer. It was the kind of spot you'd read about in a noir novel - dimly lit, with an ambiance that whispered secrets and stories untold, and a barista who knew his craft like a detective knows the streets.
We settled in, our bodies thawing as we perused the menu, a collection of culinary delights that promised to sate our hunger and lift the spirits. The choice was simple yet divine: a Halloumi salad for the soul seeking freshness, a club sandwich stacked high for the heart yearning for comfort, and for the kids, a treat of pancakes and waffles adorned with Oreo - a dish that whispered of indulgence and carefree mornings.
The Halloumi salad was a masterpiece, each bite a perfect harmony of flavors and textures, with the grilled cheese singing the lead. It was the kind of dish that made you close your eyes to savor, each mouthful a step away from the chill outside. The club sandwich, a testament to the cafe's commitment to excellence, was more than just a meal; it was a journey through layers of perfectly toasted bread, crisp lettuce, and succulent meats, each bite a revelation.
But the real magic happened with the kids' plates. The pancakes and waffles, fluffy and golden, became canvases for the artistry of Oreo crumbles, a combination so simple yet so profound. Watching the kids dive in, their eyes lighting up with every bite, was a reminder of the simple joys that life offers, even on a coldish, grey Saturday.
Thank you Mister...
Read moreWe always visit Belle la vie or master barista for breakfast and have wonderful experience. But yesterday was a bit different. We visited master barista at lunch time, I was here with 2 toddlers and 2 old ladies wanting to share the same beautiful experience we always get. We were allocated a table on top in the left corner. After being seated and waiting for couple of minutes. We had no staff ask us about order. My kids were getting restless, I had to literally wave my hand for attention of staff to place the order. And I finally managed to place the order. Food took a while to arrive but was amazing as always. Again towards the end we kept waiting and had to look out at staff and wave hand to grab their attention to ask for a bill. As my kids were restless when I finally had attention of the staff and she arrived to the table I clearly mentioned to her that I would like a bill and a box. She said okay. Then she started taking order for the table right besides ours and we waited patiently. She took couple of minutes to return. And she returned just with the bill so I had to remind her about the box and card machine. I am sorry my had lost their patience and were in the corridor, and this girl with white shirt on yesterday. Was throwing her hands in air, biting her lips and literally showing her annoyance quite clearly. The lady in white finally returned with card machine. On presenting the machine, she turned her back on us for a while. And then since my aunt used an international debit card, on inserting the card and transaction being approved, there was a msg on machine to verify signature on the card. Towards which this lady said no, thus cancelling and reversing the approved payment and telling us that transaction has been declined. I was just so annoyed with her behavior that I tapped another card and left. Please watch out for this lady to give you worst experience in one of the best places in town. I hope to never see this girl...
Read moreI’ve been to master barista on a number of occasions but haven’t had an experience like this before. We ordered our drinks first and one member of my party asked for an oat milk Americano. When this came out it wasn’t oat milk but hot semi-skimmed milk, we were unsure as to why this was the case as the waitress even repeated the order and stated oat milk. 3 of us at the table ordered the crushed avocado; 2 with bacon and one with salmon. When the Salomon one arrived she placed it down and no avocado was to be seen and they had also added hollandaise sauce to the top. The 2 with bacon then arrived and one came with hollandaise sauce and one without; it wasn’t supposed to have sauce on it. We send back the salmon one stating it doesn’t have any avocado, and we also sent back one of the bacon ones to remake without the sauce. The other 3 members of my party had finished their food before the other 2 came back out. The salmon dish came back completely cold, including the eggs, and it also came with hollandaise sauce again which it shouldn’t have, so as expected they just added the avocado without making sure the dish was hot as it should have been. Really disappointed with this service and makes me not...
