Disappointed with the Service and Communication at Judges Bakery, Hastings
I recently had a deeply disappointing experience with Judges Bakery in Hastings. I purchased a cake for a friend, only to later discover it was out of date. What should have been a straightforward process to resolve this turned into a frustrating ordeal.
After calling and emailing the bakery multiple times, I was passed around between various staff members, each offering no real resolution. Despite explaining clearly that I am not local and would need a bank transfer for the refund, they initially insisted on giving me cash in person. I had to persistently follow up before anyone even acknowledged this.
Instead of addressing the problem immediately, the bakery seemed more concerned with defending their actions rather than understanding the impact this had on me as a customer. Worse still, they used accusatory language, calling me āmaliciousā for simply expecting a refund for an out-of-date product they sold. This level of customer service is unacceptable.
Only after several emails and phone calls did they finally agree to process the refund via bank transfer, but to date, I still havenāt received it.
I would advise anyone thinking of shopping here to be cautious. If you find yourself in a similar situation, you may end up spending more time chasing a basic refund than actually enjoying your purchase. I have reported them to my credit card company and will be reporting them to trading standards and the food...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was great.... however the customer service was awful. I was with two friends whom are both under the age of 14, one bought a pastry and he paid his money so that we could sit in the cafe, little did we know a member of staff, rudely told me and the other child to 'leave' the cafe, as we had not purchased anything, expecting us to remove ourselves from where we were seated so our friend would have to eat his purchased pastry alone.
We had not done anything to cause a raucous, or to draw attention to us, we simply just wanted to sit with each other and mind our own business, and absolutely no one had complained.
I was appalled at the attitude of this member of staff, and by the looks on the other people in the cafe, so were they. No-one has the right to ask some children, to remove themselves from an area, as they personally had not purchased anything, even though our friend had. It was unnecessary and most certainly uncalled for, and the fact that, i know that member of staff would never had said the same thing to an adult who was in our same position, makes me even more infuriated about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRude staff and the cakes are not very nice at all. I think if you are going to advertise yourself as a Patisserie you should at least try to produce attractive looking cakes. None of the cakes here are contain fresh cream. The staff seem to think they are working as some sort of international anti sales force, are not welcoming and if you dare to ask what something in the very hard to see window display from inside the shop, you better watch out. I recently ordered a soup and a roll. Firstly I didnāt know what the soup was as the sign is very poorly displayed. It came with a roll, which is great, but there is a choice⦠Still good stuff. But unless youāre actually a member of staff how would you possibly know from a basket behind the person serving you that you have quite a wide range of choice? In all.. Over...
