Visited for a nice evening meal whilst away for the weekend. The staff were very friendly and we chose scallops and a deconstructed goats cheese tarte. The scallops were nice although one was a little gritty and they lacked in caramelisation (but that is definitely better than being overcooked). The goats cheese was lovely - lots of tasty cheese and a thin flaky piece of pastry served with lots of lightly picked pieces of vegetables and pesto which cut through the rich cheese. For mains we had the Jacobs ladder short rib and the grilled hake. Both dishes were very generous (the beef was possibly even too big!), but they were both incredibly tasty (the table next to us even order 'one of whatever that is' with the Beef!). We only had one dessert and a cappuccino but the dessert was one again amazing. An ice white chocolate parfait with rhubarb and orange and an orange sorbet. The orange sorbet was possibly the best part of the meal (I could have eaten a bowl full of it) and the sharp rhubarb cut through the sweetness of the white chocolate. All in all a lovely meal. The restaurant is a little odd...it almost feels alpine in decor as opposed to a Hastings seafront and the music is eclectic but that doesn't spoil a very pleasant and reasonable priced meal. Definitely worth a visit

🦞 Amazing Seafood, Generous Portions & Worth Booking Ahead! 🦞 The decor is simple, but the focus here is all on the food, and the seafood is outstanding. We ordered the seafood platter (£39), and the portion was huge. We especially loved the oysters, the smaller cold-water prawns, and the crab — all fresh, sweet, and flavorful. The only small note was that the shells could be cleaned a bit better, as I occasionally bit into some grit. Otherwise, everything was fresh and delicious. The platter also came with all the cutlery you need to easily extract the meat, which was a thoughtful touch. The winkles were milder in flavor, but they paired nicely with the other richer shellfish. We also had the special of the day: the half lobster with chips and rocket leaves (£23). The lobster was perfectly cooked, and the sauce it came with was heavenly, passing even our critical Cantonese seafood-loving taste buds from Hong Kong. Highly recommend this place for seafood lovers, but make sure to book ahead as it gets busy.

We had very unpleasant experience at the restaurant. The food (oysters, steamed mussels, steak and seafood linguine) were Fantastic. Cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. But the service was absolutely unacceptable. When we arrived it was about 5 tables with the customers and 5 to 6 waitresses. Our waitress from the beginning was a bit rushing and pushing us to decide what we want to order from the moment we set down. When she brought our food her “beautiful” but surprisingly long nails were dipping into our food which I found very unpleasant. After main meal she took plates away and just disappeared. We wanted to order a dessert and were trying to get a dessert menu from other 5 staff members ( very young girls, following each other, gathering around the till chatting laughing and making faces…) but they ignored us. After 15 minutes waiting for I got up and went towards them to ask for the menu. It was a bit funny actually: they looked at me like I was asking something I shouldn’t… their faces and body language were so weird and unhappy. One of them finally brought us a menu with the attitude of doing a favour, silently and looking annoyed. After ordered the dessert (have to say that deserts at this restaurant better be from Mark&Spencer) and green tea , we had to wait for another 15 minutes to get our order. Were eating our dessert very slowly waiting for our tea for another 10 minutes,,, we finish the dessert and the waitress came (another one) to say : we don’t have green tea…. I said : can we please have fresh mint tea instead? She was standing there and thinking of what I asked : she either didn’t know the menu, didn’t know what is Fresh mint or maybe something else,,, In the end… we had to wait another 15 minutes before we got our tea. We thought they forgot about us, went to the till to get the bill, pay and just leave…. Our tea finally was on the way… we went back to our table, finished the longest ever made tea, payed the bill for 94£ (the bill they brought quickly, thank you) and saw our waitress appeared from the staff room finally…. In General: what happened there was Totally Unacceptable, Rude and Disgusting. The staff have no idea about Customer service, obviously luck of professional skills and training, not even basic respect to others or even self respect (because it is not only humiliating to the customers but to them selves to behave that way). They can behave that way at their own homes towards to...

NEVER AGAIN!

We were a group of seven, traveling from Malaysia and Hong Kong to the UK, and during our day trip to Hasting we chose to dine at Webbe’s Restaurant. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a very disappointing experience.

Two of the senior staff members (one male, one female) were extremely rude, unfriendly, and impolite. It was clear that they were experienced in mistreating customers, and their behavior showed strong racial discrimination. If the management continues to employ such staff, it can only be seen as a disgrace to the restaurant. No matter how beautiful the location by the Hastings seafront may be, their behavior completely tarnishes it. When we arrived, we queued outside with a couple and their young child ahead of us. At that time, there were four empty tables outside and even a large six-to-seven seat table inside. When we approached, the senior waiter responded with a dismissive and disrespectful attitude. Later, when I went inside, a younger waitress politely told us she could arrange a table for us. However, the senior waiter came in shortly after, overruled her, and gave the large table to the couple with the child instead. We were told to continue waiting outside, despite being a party of seven. Eventually, we were seated at a table outdoors.

We ordered seven drinks (light tonic, four peach & mango, one lemonade, one raspberry lemonade) and six main courses (2 Grilled Sea Bass, 2 Seafood Linguine, 2 Panaché of Fish). We expected the food to arrive shortly, but we saw many tables who arrived later than us finish their meals and leave, while we were completely ignored. After we chased twice, the senior waiter finally told us, “Your order has only just been placed, do you still want to wait?” In the end, we waited nearly two hours, and our main courses never arrived. It was an extremely unpleasant experience.

What made it worse was that we could clearly see other Asian customers being treated in a similar way — forced to wait much longer and dealt with in an unfriendly manner. Later, we checked the reviews and saw many comments mentioning discrimination against Chinese guests. Sadly, we personally experienced the same. In summary, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. It completely shattered the impression I once had of British politeness and hospitality. What was supposed to be a delightful seaside lunch became the most disappointing moment...

In one word "AMAZING " that's the word my wife used to the waiter when he asked "how was your meal" We only went to Hastings for the day. When we were looking for somewhere to eat, I googled to see what was close to us . Two choices came up. The Crown and Webbes. We tend to read the reviews on Google as that's what I use to find out what's around where we actually are. Both came back with good reviews but we were closer to Webbes than the Crown. So we had a look at the menu outside and a couple of items sounded nice. We sat outside as it was sunny. We ordered drinks, a coke and a local cider which is my tipple of choice. When my wife had a sip of my cider and she finished her coke she then chose the cider. We skipped the starters. I went for my first choice which was the Seafood languine and my wife was split between two. She asked the waiter what he recommended and suggested the Hake. When they arrived both dishes were well presented. Very appetising to the eye. Let me say they tasted as good as they looked. I had not had muscles before so as mine was a seafood dish it had muscles, salmon, prawn and I think squid in a delicious white creamy sauce. (I now know I like muscles) My wife's was an array of colour. Once she had tasted it she to agreed it to was delicious. Obviously we didn't leave anything on the plates. When the waiter came to clear the table and asked what we thought my wife's reply was simply "AMAZING" she complimented him on his choice. Time for dessert. My wife always tends to go for something chocolaty. She had the dark chocolate delice and I had the sticky toffee pudding. My wife was 95% happy with her choice but still very nice. Mine was 99.9% perfect I could have done with a bit more ice cream. But that's our preference nothing to do with the quality of the dessert. Our compliments to the chefs.

The service from the waiters and the waitresses was first class, all were attentive and polite and a credited to the establishment. Thank you. Overall would we recommend this restaurant. 100% absolutely. Definitely would love to eat here again. Thanks again and hope to see you...
