A very very mixed bag
I, my partner and my friends are still confused about this place after four visits:
First time: had two curries, rise and breads, loved everything but it wasn't cheap. Something for special occasions, I thought.
Second time: took mum here for a treat. Had two curries, still pricey but both just not very nice, especially the fish one, tasted way too fishy, like dark bits of salmon or makerel.
Third time: Vegan or veggie buffet: very disappointing, food quality mixed, breads very stale, attitude to replenishing and tidying up the buffet deplorable, cheese cake an unidentifyable liquid mess (I fell for it and thought it was something exotic and Sri Lankan :D)
Fourth time: Seafood and fish buffet, again, the quality was very mixed and the staff just didn't seem to care enough about keeping the buffet replenshed and enjoyable for diners.
Yet my friend swears they do the best beef fillet steak here she has ever eaten. As for me, I'm not into steak and don't think I'll visit again, unless there's a special offer on maybe. For the prices, I would expect more...
Read moreI spotted the vegan buffet on instagram and by luck landed on the week we were staying near by
I’ve never tried Sri lanken so looked forward to giving a go with my Parents who are not vegan but they even loved it
It had a Great variety and set up at the back of the restaurant on this occasion It was quite quiet so we had a chilled time and helped ourselves to different dishes as the only one for this specific event opposed to other diners eating off the main menu
The Quality was great and refreshed Plus An added bonus was the dessert stations which was A fab way to end the meal And bargain price
So much so we went back mid week as I noticed during April they also had 50% off the food bill however when we went on the Wednesday a different deal was on which wasn’t advertised so that was abit frustrating as well as it being busy so had a long wait as it was short staffed in comparison to diners
When the food came the presentation was great however due to the time had gone slightly passed it after a long day out so got to take away
Overall a mixed experience but glad I tried and...
Read moreWe visited on Easter Sunday for the monthly vegan buffet - always on the last Sunday. You walk in up the stairs, which initially look and feel a bit grim - but persevere, and arrive at the restaurant. The decor was bright and reflected the Sri Lankan culture. We chose to sit in a booth which was comfortable and intimate. The service was excellent - attentive and friendly. The buffet was set out really well, everything was clearly labelled. The choice was fantastic, so many starters, mains, and desserts on offer; everything vibrant and fresh. The food was delicious and it was great to try so many different dishes. It’s all you can eat for £19.95 and you can definitely make the most of this as there is no feeling of being rushed. The vegan buffet starts at 2pm but before this there is an omnivorous buffet available. There is no cross contamination issues as there is a break between so all food on offer after 2 is definitely vegan. Highly...
