Burger King — Restaurant in High Peak

Recently, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at Burger King, and I must say, it was the best burger experience we've had in years. Initially, we had set our sights on McDonald's, but due to the crowd, we opted for Burger King instead—a decision we do not regret.

Upon entering, we were greeted by an impeccably clean restaurant and an incredibly friendly staff, setting a positive tone for our visit. The menu selection impressed us; my wife and I chose a Whopper and a Chimichurri Angus burger, accompanied by fries and loaded fries, respectively. Our daughter enjoyed a child's chicken nugget meal with fries. A nostalgic touch that brought a smile to our faces was the paper crowns, reminiscent of my own childhood visits to Burger King. We all sported one, adding a fun element to our meal. Additionally, the music selection was excellent, featuring some real classics that enhanced the ambiance.

While the service was slightly slower than anticipated, considering the quiet atmosphere and the limited staff on hand—about four employees managing both the restaurant and the drive-thru—it was understandable. The quality and taste of the food more than made up for the wait. Our burgers were genuinely brilliant, and the fries were fresh, crispy, and delicious.

However, there were a couple of areas for improvement. The paper straws provided were too thin, making it challenging to enjoy the thick shakes, which were otherwise excellent. Also, the self-service machine's touchscreen was somewhat unresponsive, though we eventually got what we wanted.

Despite these minor issues, our takeaway experience at Burger King was one of the best we've had in a long time. The burgers were exceptional, and the fries were perfect. On arrival I am eluded to only days after opening, one of the ordering machines are labelled ‘out of order’ resulting in a 10 minute wait just to order my food. After the catastrophic start to the experience I found myself surrounded by annoying groups of youths circling the area making it even more of a nightmare. Furthermore the person next to me waiting to order was totally confused by the layout of the order machine and therefore asked a nearby staff worker for some help who was swift to explain to him she was on her break and didn’t give any sufficient advice leaving me and him totally disgusted with the service.

After an expensive order coming to around £8 for a small sized burger, fries and a drink, I was made to wait yet another 10 minutes for my food. During this time I was especially interested to why out of the 8 staff on duty, only 3 of them were actually making food when people were stood around waiting. The ones that weren’t doing their job were more interested in standing at the front desk all partaking in a job which I could do perfectly fine on my own. Takes 4 people? Absolutely not. While they stood having a chat, I waited, patiently thinking about how this is my first, and definitely last visit to Burger King Glossop.

Wouldn’t recommend to anyone other than those who wish to stride in the lowest standards of fast food. If McDonald’s opens across the road from this Burger King, the place would collapse within a week. Probably for the...

I was never a fan of Burger King and always preferred McDonald’s however I was pleased when it opened in Glossop so I thought I’d give it a try as it was nearly 30 years since my last Burger King. I don’t know if it’s my taste buds that have changed but in terms of flavours, the burgers have a far better taste than McDonald’s! The burgers have a charcoal taste to them and that makes the delicious! Even the chips are superior to McDonald’s. The food was cooked fresh whilst I was waiting and congratulations to Burger King for providing far better tasting burgers than McDonald’s. I would also like to mention the staff serving who were lovely, polite and apologetic informing me the burgers would be a few minutes as they were being cooked, made to order and therefore fresh. It was fairly quiet on my visit but I hope that trade picks up because this is an excellent restaurant that provides good quality food...
