Dollys Cafe — Restaurant in High Peak

We’ve been customers of Dolly’s for a long time and loved it when Danielle was the owner. We have ordered since the change in ownership, but sadly we noticed on today’s visit that there has been a recent decline in both quality of food and service. We had a breakfast order this morning to take out and we’re so disappointed with what we got. It feels like portions are smaller, quality of ingredients is poorer and service is slow despite seeming to be well staffed. I was particularly disappointed with the toast that came with the full breakfast. Danielle used to serve lovely big, thick slices of quality buttered toast. What we got today was half the size and quality for an increased cost. We always try and support local businesses but I think this will be our last visit as there are places offering better quality and value for money. I don’t mind paying more for a better experience. I am not going to mark them down it would be unfair. Food service is great friendly people and a nice place to visit. I have been here many a time over the last 5 or 6 years years . Fancied a late breakfast last Thursday about 12.35pm Only a couple in the place no one else . When I ordered a breakfast I was advised "Breakfast has finished now but you could go up to the big Brekkie for it " I politley pointed out that i wanted breakfast to sit in apologised that my sloppy scheduling did nor meet their standards . I went to the cosy Cafe at Holing worth where my tardy timekeeping was fprgiven and i handed over 20 quid including tip for a delicious breakfast for me and my guest. As a resident of Padfield and regular user of local businesses I would urge you all not just at Dollys There is plenty of stiff competiion on Startion rd for food shops and take away .. Dont let a hard won local reputation be spoiled by poor customer...

Words can not describe the feeling. I got when I opened my breakfast tray to see the smallest breakfast ever known to mankind. The tray looked like a standard size tray but with the one small sausage sat next to two halve sized pieces of Bacon it looked huge. They stuck the egg in the top right-hand corner I guess because there was nothing else to put in it and some beans in the one next door.
