Greggs — Restaurant in Horsham

This Greggs is consistently disappointing. The woman behind the counter always seems to have an attitude and struggles to process more than one thing at a time, despite the fact she’s seemingly been working there since the dawn of time.

I went in for a steak bake and a coffee. I was told there were no steak bakes and to pick something else. No, “they’re just coming out,” no “, they’ll be ready in a moment”—just a hard no. Assuming they weren’t going to have any for a while, I picked a sausage roll instead. The second my payment went through, her colleague walked out immediately with a fresh tray of steak bakes. Does nobody in this place talk to each other? Or does she just not care that time continues to exist beyond the exact second she’s speaking?

As she handed me my coffee, I immediately asked for a steak bake as well. No flicker of recognition, no apology, no anything. Just a robotic “watch out, it’s hot.” Which, frankly, is a miracle, considering this place is infamous for serving up lukewarm disappointment.

This place is a mess. The staff are either uninterested or bad at their jobs, and the general atmosphere is miserable. Avoid...

I'm giving it two stars purely because of their bread! I took him who vanishes in there today at 3pm. Yes, I know it's a fast food outlet, but really, Why the dry White bread? In this time of healthy eating and I must confess, healthy fillings! The most disgusting, hard, dry, semi stale, cheap, nasty bread!!! Where's the Wholemeal, the Rye, the Granary? There's a whole plethora of fine bakers out there and they settle for white cardboard!! Really, what a disappointment. Now if you eat at one of the 2 tables inside the wind tunnel shop, you have to pay a 20% surcharge! They expect Me to pay to eat inedible bread??? No, no, no, that Isn't how this works! You get decent Brown bread for your sandwiches and rolls and I'll Think about going in there again! They do hot pies and bakes that by 3pm look over brown and dry. Their drink selection is fine, the apathetic lad serving was fairly tidy, considering how Tired he appeared to be! Today I entered the shop at 4pm there was no one behind the counter the staff where cleaning out front of the shop, there was nothing in the counter display ?? I was told they shut at 430 and there was nothing in the counters to buy it was 403pm three other customers walked in behind me then walked out why was there nothin to buy in the cabinets when the shop didn't shut for a further 30 mins and a sausage roll pastry etc cooks I'm about 12 mins. ???? Not happy about this I usually go in and pick up dinner for 5 a few steak slices a few cheese n onion slices and maybe a pastie and something sweek as a treat but at 4pm the was nothing to buy...
