We held our Corporate event at Monte Forte and were fortunate enough to have the entire restaurant to ourselves. The restaurant is beautifully laid out, with good air con during the warm summer days, an open kitchen space and the most funky basement with an upstairs and downstairs bar. Ellie B was the Manager on duty and bent over backwards to accommodate all our needs. She was friendly and unbelievably flexible in accommodating our requests. Ellie gave up a lot of her time in advance of our special event, to ensure every detail was covered and was pro-active and resourceful in accommodating such a large group of 62. On the day, all the staff that worked (Ellie B) , Ellie T, Jack and Neve, and the kitchen team, Nathan and Malachi, worked incredibly hard from start to finish and were professional and on the ball. Nothing was too much trouble, and Ellie, the Manager, was in constant communication with me throughout the evening to ensure everything ran smoothly on the night. The Pizzas were very authentic and a taste sensation. All the guests commented on how they were some of the best pizzas they have had in a restaurant! Our only feedback for improvement is it would have been great to have had some lagers available, other than the local bottle ales / brews, but I know that Monte Forte had some supply issues, and did their best to remedy that where they could. Overall, we highly recommend Monte Forte for their 5* Service, amazing team, quality of the food, ambience, and also, we felt that they were really good value option for a corporate event, with no hire fee and just a minimum spend. We would not hesitate to return for a corporate event, or with family and friends for lunch or dinner. It is a very special place with a local feel. Thank you to Ellie again and your dream team for your hard work! You really did make the evening special. See...
Read moreWe had a table booked for 8pm. We went in earlier in the day in order to change to table to 6pm which we were were told was 'fine' and 'no problem'. Upon arrival, we were told that we only had the table for 1 hour before we had to leave (we were NOT told earlier when we rearranged our booking). Whilst there, the music was turned up to a level that was silly and multiple tables said the same thing. We asked to turn it down and they kindly did, only for it to be turned up again even louder around 10 minutes later, at which point I asked again to turn it down and 2 other tables nearby also joined in with asking to turn it down. With around 10 minutes left of '1 hour slot', we received our pizzas and midway through eating them, a member of staff came over and said to us not to rush but they need the table. As I looked around there were 4 empty tables that I could see. We ended up finishing our food at around 10 past and asked for the bill. By the time the bill came and we paid, we were leaving at quarter past and those 4 empty tables were still empty. We sent an email to Monte Forte to let them know of our experience and we were asked to call them. I did so and the manager called me a liar and argued with me for around 5 minutes. Multiple times I tried to explain that this was feedback of our experience but he said I hadn't given him any. Very naive manager and is clearly in denial. Maybe he doesn't know how to talk to a customer. But never the less, the food is very good but I would...
Read moreFood good, disappointing end to the evening. Very quiet for a Sunday evening, it appeared they had a staff party so were turning customers away. We were a party of 4 plus one other party of 2 in the restaurant the whole evening, so was extremely quiet. Service very good from a young lady, but when we were to pay, there was a problem with the bill and the previous table's food was included with ours. This is fine, we understand mistakes can be made, but the manager (man with beard), not the waitress, was just not interested, almost seemed like our fault they'd made a mistake. Such a shame, we will not return, perhaps need to learn a little about customer service, from a managerial perspective. In the current climate, frankly you need all the customers you can get. As I say, a real shame, to end my wife's birthday evening on such a sour note. Oh, and when customers ask to take leftovers, perhaps take the plates and box them up, don't just give them a box and expect them to do it. Really, really disappointing as we'd been before and were really looking forward...
