Disgusting Dirty Cutlery I recently had the misfortune of eating at this pub. I was first presented with the dessert, which I ordered, fine. I was presented with a spoon and fork and a napkin, this is where the disgusting situation begins, but it's to get worse. The spoon and fork were disgusting dirty with dried on food on them, also the person that was having lunch with me, also stated to me, that his cutlery also had dried on food on it. I then went to the service station where the cutlery they were using for the whole eatery. I picked up one after another dirty disgusting spoons and forks with dried on food on them one even had a small but clearly visible piece of paper firmly stuck to it. I picked up on random 6 spoons and everyone had not been cleaned properly. I would seriously advice people not to eat here, if there cutlery is like that ,you could just imagine what the plates and what the pots and pans are like. I mentioned my disgust to another patron, and she stated that the other day she experienced the same thing, dried on food on her cutlery ,where they have not been cleaned properly. This is a serious health violation and I am contemplating of bringing to the attention of The Environment of Health and Safety, this is total disregard to the health and safety of the general public and could have very serious consequences. Brought the matter to the so called female manager, to which she did not even listen to my complaint, and tried to adopted, a autocratic attitude and I was never able to even finish my complaint. If other people have experience dirty disgusting cutlery in this Wetherspoon, it would be beneficial to write a small review outlining the matter DO NOT EAT HERE, ITS A POTENTIAL HEALTH HAZARD WAITING TO EXPLODE. I have never experienced such dirty disgusting cutlery and I have eaten in plenty of eateries around the World . Plus tha arrogant attitude the management, where she didn't not even listen or let me put my point, to which in the end I was asked to leave for trying to put over a complaint. If that is Wetherspoons policy, we'll what else can I...

Never again!! Used to go here at least once a week , however the quality is definitely slipping and fast!! For example we popped in last Monday 13th November decided to try the new Xmas panini when it came not only was it rock hard on the bottom but it only had half the filling it was supposed to contain , but I let it go as before everything had always been reasonable. We popped in again on Saturday 18th as we were shopping in the town , decided to have the Xmas burger only to be told they had no stuffing for it , fair enough , so we choose another burger , when it arrived was stone cold and I mean cold. So they obviously don't do their haccp food hygiene checks properly , anyway we complained and were offered some pigs in blankets as a sorry , when the replacement burger came it was tasteless . And then today we went again out of habit to our mistake , ordered the Xmas panini , when it came it was completely the wrong one they had sent down a bbq chicken one , when I questioned them I was told that they couldn't find the Xmas one on the till ( even though I had ordered it) so sent that one instead !!!!disgraceful so be warned this place has gone downhill fast!! as for us...

Stopped by today 28/08/24 @15:00 and had a nice meal chicken mash and gravy. The coffee machines had run out of milk but once I informed a lovely member of staff she immediately refilled the milk supply. However it went downhill from there onwards . We then ordered apple crumble which was nice and a sticky toffee pudding and custard. As the toffee pudding was placed on the table we could immediately smell burning! Once the pudding was cut into you could see the centre was badly burned! My wife returned it to the serving area and was met by the rudest member of staff she’s ever met. The staff member Cat said it wasn’t burnt even though it was clear to see ie no liquid toffee only a black powder . Cat then said to my wife the pudding comes like that ! But spoken in a truly rude and abrupt manner. She did offer to replace it but my wife said no and asked for a refund. Cat then directed my wife to the duty manager. I believe his name was Aaron , who was very polite and professional made a refund. It’s a shame because everyone other than Cat we spoke to was very polite and professional and...

The Swan and Angel is an excellent wetherspoons pub. There is a wide choice of beers, lagers, and cider, including some very nice hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The pub is in a large historic building in the market square. There is a nice outside seating area at the back. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We both had the full English breakfast, and it was well cooked and very filling. The cask conditioned ales we tried were very good. The excellent fresh ground coffee from the fancy machine is a game changer. We will definitely be back when we visit St. Ives again in a few weeks' time.

Highly recommended!! Reasons as follow: 1. Cheap prices 2. Fantastic food (the pasta alfredo was reaaally good) with decent portion 3. Drinks are often included, free refills for hot drinks 4. Toilets are beyond decent, they're elegant 5. Clean utensils and tables 6. Chargers available at table 7. Open until 12am even on a Sunday 8. Located at City Centre 9. Nice staff 10. Wide variety of food available 11. I love Scan and Order! 12. Free Wifi available 13. They have covid screens, NHS app scanning etc, sanitizing stations etc If I lived in St Ives I would be coming over every day! Will visit again :)

Just had the worst experience I think I’ve ever had at a weatherspoons I ordered a Christmas dinner only to be told there was an hour wait for my food and they had no mashed potato I said that’s fine I’ll have chips when my food arrives not only was there no mash but no parsnips, stuffing , peas or cranberry sauce and the turkey looked like it’s come out of a packet I know it’s weatherspoons and the food as cheap compared to other places but still expected better than what I received
