The Welcome Chinese Restaurant (Cambridgeshire) — Restaurant in Huntingdonshire

I really do not want to write this review , but felt I needed too because as a family we really were not happy with the whole experience from a normally great restaurant We booked this restaurant for our family Christmas Eve dinner, because we have had good experiences here for the last couple of years and other visits. Unfortunately this time wasn't so good and I understand that Christmas Eve was going to be busy, but if you go out to a restaurant you want a nice relaxed environment, with good service and good hot food, that wasn't the case. The restaurant really couldn't keep up with the demand of take aways and the diners eating in, at one point I heard a member of staff tell a customer that it was a two hour wait for takeaway!!

Our starters arrived barely warm an hour after ordering it, couldn't send back because the staff just were whizzing about all over the place and I will add with a smile on their faces. Then the we wanted some more of the starters but the member of staff suggested the duck next, they weren't too happy when we confirmed we wanted more of the starters but warmer. Starters arrived slightly warmer and then the duck another 30 mins later again cold which wasn't helped by the takeaway customers queuing from the restaurant counter to the outside with the door open. When I asked a member of staff to try and control the queue and keep the door shut it took another 20 mins to action. When the mains arrived this was barely warm again, we finished our meal really disappointed and when mentioned to the older lady she just said we stopped the online ordering and a sorry that really didn't seem sincere. So not sure if this is anything to do with the meal but one of our party now has woken up through the night Vomiting and is very poorly while I'm writing this. This really wasn't a good experience and ruined our evening which had become a custom. The lovely ladies serving were up against it and a credit to your restaurant, I think better...

I recently visited a fantastic Chinese restaurant that offered an "all you can eat" experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming ambiance. The variety of dishes available was simply overwhelming! Their selection ranged from traditional classics like dim sum and Peking duck to more contemporary fusion dishes.

The dim sum was definitely a highlight – delicate and flavorful, with a wide assortment of steamed and fried options. The Peking duck was succulent, served with perfectly crispy skin and accompanied by all the traditional condiments. I also enjoyed their noodle dishes and stir-fries, which were prepared with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

What I loved most was the attentive and friendly service from the staff. They were always ready to assist and offered helpful recommendations for newcomers like me. The "all you can eat" concept allowed me to try a variety of dishes without feeling rushed or limited.

The only downside, if any, was that some of the dishes were not as hot as I would have preferred, but the restaurant quickly remedied this when I brought it to their attention.

Overall, I had a delightful dining experience at this Chinese restaurant. The delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service made it a memorable meal, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves Chinese cuisine and wants to indulge in a diverse and satisfying...

We are so happy to be able to get a table last minute as the lovely owner Jasmine went out of her way to help! The clean & lovely restaurant is buzzing with smiles and friendly service The combination of Cantonese & Malaysian style cooking is excellent and delicious! The all you can eat buffet is great value and the menu choices is extensive to choose from. The starter platters is freshly prepared and delicious 😋 non oily and very tasty with some lovely satay sauce. The aromatic duck wrap is a must try as you can see every table will order them. The hoisin sauce is top quality, thick and delicious to go with the wrap. The main course recommended by Jasmine is very flavorful and delicious very mouthful! Compliments to the chefs The staff is super efficient, friendly and provide excellent service at all time. The portion size is great and this is a good way not wasting food by over ordering! Reservations is highly recommended as they are very popular with their regular customers! Would highly recommended this place and love to come back again soon 🙏🏻💕 Keep up the good...
